Personally I generally find the metal community to be pretty accepting of new stuff. Poppy is a perfect example of that. With regards to keeping the sound the same, the younger generation need a new version of the KoRn dubstep era, that'll keep 'em wishing for the old times!

Solid chorus. Adam D. is going to belt that, "We are aligned" part out with gusto when they play it live.

Man, I get what y’all are saying. I think the “heard this before” architects crowd equates their new music to radio rock. Architects, as Johnny said, were aggressive, technical, definitely NOT radio rock music at their roots. And they are decidedly that now. There’s no denying this. The sound and the lyrics. Killswitch has sprinkled that element into their discography, no doubt. Because, let’s face it, they can’t be as big as they are if they didn’t. But this song isn’t getting any radio play. Johnny even mentioned the hardcore element of this song. Architects is not including hardcore anything these days.. lol. You can say “I’ve heard that before” regarding killswitch the same way you do about August Burns Red - which connects to the original audience and isn’t a departure from the “scene” that they themselves had probably the biggest hand in creating. The “I’ve heard that before crowd” for Architects is just saying “meh radio rock bad”, and if we’re being honest…. that’s mostly true..

As on OG KSE fan, I was really disappointed with this track. Thought they can play to a much higher level. This seemed quite regressive. Mix was dull. All for keeping the formula but this was way too much ‘rock tambourine’ for me. Hope the rest of the record is more aggressive and interesting

I honestly think it’s each band’s fan base as well. Killswitch fans are probably a little older and more of a cult following. “Bigger” bands like Architects probably have a wider fan base of old and new fans.
