I always had my dog sleeping in the front porch, and he seemed to be happier there anyway. All I did was to let him into the sleeping compartment for a look round before we zipped up. I spent a fortnight in northern Portugal, in Geres National Park, and it was one of the most lovely places I've ever been. 😊😊😊

You are not (never) getting old. . . Simply older! I have spent most of my life in a twin bed. About 2 years ago I treated myself to a full bed. Now me and all 9 dogs fit!! Whoops, 11 dogs (two 5 month old puppies)!

I had a black labrador retriever,in the dark I could not see her. I gave her a small bicycle light on the collar. What a delight ( Mark light😮),I saw wherever she went,yes!

Emulate your tent for your garden shade. Fabricate some pvc poles 1/2 - 1" dia. Probably have to make some dry samples before gluing. Anchor metal rod 16" - 24" lg , at an angle into the ground at opposite ends of the canopy. Attach one end of the pvc pipe to the rod. Arch tbe pipe to the opposite side rod. This should give the shage canopy some height and support. On the underside of the canopy, sew or velcro or glue pipe loop rings for attachment points. Great that the vegetables are doing fine. Does look brown and dry. Your family has grown. You need a taller and bigger tent. At least double or triple the current one. Happy camping.

If you are putting a Tarp over the garden or over anything...a trick I learned is , take a stone the size of a ping pong ball, roll the tarp over the stone at the edge Then take a couple of half hitch knots on back of the stone and over the tarp and it will hold forever without tearing the tarp. Loved 1883. Shame there won’t be another season of it. New season of Yellowstone out later in the year but I’m not sure what it’ll be like without Costner. Also unsure if Rip will be in it as he’s being sued by Taylor Sheridan. So much drama!😂

Thanks for your reply, to say I am gutted to hear that, (Costner will not be in the next series of Yellowstone), is an understatement. He is my favourite actor of all time. Does anything come close to “Dancing with Wolves”? And you say 1883 is not coming back, what are they thinking of? Ah well, I’ll have to watch Dancing with Wolves again for about the 10th time. Been to Portugal a few times and when it was very hot, we lived off those organic watermelons they sell at the road side ... They are exceptionally good down there ... In the fall it is oranges and then we mix in blended chia seeds so we feel full ... Love Portugal and plan to move there in a few years ...

I have been experimenting with a few drops of eucalyptus oil in a bit of water on a saucer placed right by my bedroom window and it seems to help keeping mosquitoes away at night. Could also be there weren’t any around 😂
