Ok, it seems to work on SW if less noise in the room. Probably a reel antenna outside would do the same or better job by also good signals. I missed in the test a comparsion with internal telescope antenna as a kind of reference and that AN-48X both nearby the window. Does the AN-48X overloads smaller radios like Tecsun R-9012, DR-920C and others? The AN-48X is maybe a nice portable antenna for outdoor activities in the summer. Vy'73 DE1DGK

Curious to see what that rack thing is all about. Thank you, looking to see more of this antenna.

Hi and thanks for posting your video, i have just purchased a Digitech AR 1780 so am now searching for an Antenna with a 3.5mm jack so may get this one as it seems to increase the signal, is your one attached to a window with wooden frames as our house has all Aluminium frames and sliding doors. just wondering if it would make any difference. Cheers Glenn v from NZ

cool video, I am especially curious about its performance on the medium wave. I also have a d-808, it is a really good radio. Cheers.

Hello, have you any experience using this antenna on MW in an environment heavily polluted by electrosmog from the neighbors?
11 ай бұрын
I used this amplifier in an environment as described, without good results in AM/MW. I have a Tecsun PL330 that does not have a connector for an external antenna on that band, so I used the ferrite adapter provided by the manufacturer for the case. If I increase the gain it saturates the radio, regardless of the tuning setting. Even comparing the reception with the gain at minimum, the internal antenna gives much better results.

I was never very impressed using the older Tecsun loop -- the fine tune point was so fine that it was difficult to see this really serving as a main antenna...

What I understand is that you do not recommend the Tecsun an-48x antenna, correct?

MLA 30 a better choice by far
@sidneycavalcant11 ай бұрын
@@OfficialSWLchannel I see discussions about the originality of the MLA30, which would be green LED and details of the seal. Do you have any more?

Would you please invest in a few tripods. Yard sales are great for that. I have about a dozen scattered all over the place so I have one when I need one.

Would have been nice if you would have thought to unplug the antenna from the radio and possibly even rotated the antenna itself to demonstrate those differences.

Excuse me but I don't think Degen 31ms is a piece of junk. I could catch 1kw power stations. MLA30+ is better, but it could be you bought a bad 31ms 🤷🏻♂️.

I'm thinking: buy it, don't buy it. I expect more reviews on youtube. I am interested in using it outside, on trips on the LW and MW band, I "collect" NDBs.

Hi Lilian I'm also interested in listening to ndb's what portable radio would you recommend?

@@ianharling9569 I have Tecsun PL-600 and Eton satellite. Tecsun is more sensitive on the LW band and excellent on the MW. I use mini-whip active antenna (Bonito Boni-whip)

Just another question Lilian.Does the Tecsun PL-600 external aerial socket work down the Longwave frequencies so you can use your active aerial on this receiver?
@ER1PLG4 жыл бұрын
@@ianharling9569 not, just FM and SW. But, I use ferrite bar from old radio with cable (22 turns) to BNC to transmit signal to ferrite internal radio
