You need to understand the category of trains. 1) Metro trains(runs inside City for daily commuters) 2) Chair cars (example is Vande Bharat...it is for short duration where one can sit and travel) 3) Sleeper trains( for longer duration...where you have facility for cabins and berths to sleep) All these are available in India and in plenty. When you compare it with Pakistan trains then do compare in the same category.

If you calculate the fare per kilometer it is very cheap. The most shocking thing of Indian Railway is they don't earn any profit from passenger trains as it is highly subsidized n too much maintenance is required.The main income comes from freight train. Can’t compare a metro to an express train. And also comparing an intercity bus service to a nation-wide railway network is uncalled for. Bharat mein bhi bahut strong intercity roadways network hai, specially after the recent upgradation of infrastructure, the routes have substantially increased in numbers and quality of travel too has enhanced a lot. Bharat ke major routes jaise Mumbai to Goa, unpe chalne wali coach busses mein berths aur coupe system with amenities such as air purifiers, cup- bottle holders, electric sockets, display screens wo sab bahut samay se mil raha hai, for over 15 years now. Par recently pichle 8-10 warshon se wo majority of routes ki luxury coaches mein available ho gaya hai, as far as I’ve known and to whatever destinations I’ve travelled to, on the intercity coaches, in the recent years. pakistan mein aao ek bus aur train ko compare kar sakte cuz maybe u guyz don’t have many options, par Bharat mein itni sari alag alag prakar li trains, busses, trams, cars, trucks etc. hain li sadak pe chalne wali hatchback ko aap kisi SUV se compare nahi kar sakte kyunki sabka apna alag segment hai Bharat mein aur log itni eaily bewakoof nahi bante kyunki Chinese car aur electronics manufacturers ne 10-12 warsh pehle koshish ki thi, online or tv par desi reviewers dwara ghatiya Chinese products ko Bharat ke local brands, Japanese brands, American-European brands se compare karwa ke lower quality aur expensive dikhane ki, usmein bahut log bewakoof banaye gaye Bharat mein aur janta ko bahut chuna laga. Wo aise hi karte thay, bus ko train se, car ko suv se, mobile phone ko laptop se compare karke logon ko bewakoof banaya bahut adhik aur Chinese products max to max 1 mahina ya 2 mahine baad useless ho jati thi aur Chinese companies ke to service centers bhi khud ke apne nahi hote, puncture banane walon ki electronics repair ki service outlets khulwa ke apne Oppo aur Mi brands ke banners lagwa diye thay. This is why should never take desi folks lightly ki kuch bhi compare kardo, wo sab Bharat mein nahi chal pa raha for the last 10 years at least.
