like others said, definitely get that other side squeezed down so the sidewalls sit in the center on the rim opposite where you're working on getting the tire mounted. also, when putting tire irons onto the rim, give the end a little "jiggle" against the rim to make sure you hear metal and don't have a bit of tube pinched in between.

Next time you mount a tire. Push the bead of the tire further into the wheel. Where the bead of the tire is almost touching the spokes inside the wheel. The tire then has more room to move laterally for when you are prying over the last amount of tire. Good channel by the way.

It really helps, when installing an inner tube, to partially inflate the tube prior to putting it into the tire. You need not put much air in it, just enough that the tube fits into the tire, not leaving flat parts to get caught between the rim and the tools.

A trick my father used in installing a tube and tire was to first make sure the tube is partially inflated. Then soap the top side tire bead and rim real well. The bead will slip in far easier. Being careful not to point the tool to far downward. Try that method.

when you get the tube in and valve tight add just enough air to round out the tube, this keeps it from getting pinched.
@denislitisha7136Ай бұрын
I’m a. Bicycle mechanic, I know moto tires are harder to put on, but the principle is the same.Inflate the tube slightly to give shape then put it in the tire. Always start putting the bead of the tire valve first . Try not to use tires levers as much as possible. Use your body weight and hands and start beading the tire on the rim. Always push the bead on both sides of the tire toward the centre of the rim. The diameter at the center of the rim is smaller than the bead of the rim. Keep working it and deflate the tube if need be, even remove the core to make sure no air. Every couple of inches you seat in the bead, always check the tube with your fingers to make sure it is toward the center of the tie to not pinch it. Even standing on the bead of the tire to seat it is better then using tire levers

Once it cleans out a little, it rips, and that's with an adult riding it LOL. Just think how fast it will be with a kid riding it that weighs about half of what you weigh... Hopefully it will go to a kid that otherwise wouldn't be able to have a bike. I was fortunate enough to have a bike when I was a kid. I started riding when I was about 9 years old and I rode every day, it didn't matter what the weather was doing. Those are some of the fondest memories that I have...

Joe, Glad to see this is a givaway. Very nice gesture. Joe, I've been watching and enjoying your videos for some time now. With this in mind, I hope you can accept some constructive criticism. It pained me to watch you wrestling with that front rim and tire in a puddle of oil. That oil should've been cleaned up as soon as it was spilled. Oil on a smooth surface is dangerous. I know you're young and think your good health will last forever, but it won't. I was a young mechanic who thought this way and it came around to bite me in the behind. Joe, get yourself a heavy duty work bench to work on the individual components of a rebuild/repair just big enough for the component and some tools to get you up off the floor. Dedicate this bench to only those things you are working on right now. Keep it clean so that as each component gets repaired and put aside, the workbench/table will be ready for the next component. Joe, please get yourself a real tire changing machine, not a Harbor Freight one. It'll pay for itself by not having to buy additional tubes when they get perforated during installation. Thanks for all the great videos. Sincerely, John Wagner

Hi! How to install a tube: You first put in a little bit of air, just so that it reaches a round tutular form. Not more, not even for a moment. Then you put it in carefully, making sure it is in the right position without torquing or squeezing it. Now press the tire over the rim and best try to just use your body's force, no tools. Always make sure that the tube doesn't get squeezed in. If you have to use those levers, it gets tricky. The tube cannot be between the lever and the rim at any time. Next it is best to apply special tire montage fluid all araound between tire and rim, on both sides. Now pressurize the tire to the recommended pressure before the fluid evaporates (it is not water, but also water might do the trick). Check tthat the tire has fully settled in by rotating the wheel on an axle and watching it running straight, if not then at least following the rim. You can also look for a mark on the side, like a ridge, and check that its distance to the rim is the same all around. If not, reduce tire pressure and squueze the tire from the sides going areound the whole wheel, then re-pessurize it.

Joe if you put a few pounds of air into the tube it will push against the tire surface out of the way of the rim. Then only use the smooth iron to shove the tire edge over the rim. That hooked iron is the culprit! Buy another smoothy! I've done a ton of bicycle and motorcycle tire replacements. On bicycles we didn't use any irons or demon screwdrivers once you learn to do it by hand it's easy!

Baby powder in the tire , powder up the tube , air tube up the half way , wd40 on a rag wipe the bead down , couple small tire irons , not those big ones . When all done take that nut off the valve steam, that will just rip the stem off the tube if or when the tire spins on the rim.
