I saw the metal horn hook that we uniquely provide, hahaha, we specially find someone to customize it and then provide it to customers.

Really like the look of this tent. Will you do another pitch and play before you go? Not long now, I'm looking forward to watching your trip.

Pretty much as others have suggested take a look at Charles “ long suffering walkers KZbin vids on the Lanshans. Maybe consider linking the foot print and inner tie outs with bungees. Carbon fibre pegs ? With a few mods and a bit of practice the lanshan 1 & 2 are cracking tents for the money

Like yourself I first got the pro and got soaked from condensation and wind, I cut the doors and floor off stitched in a few o rings then purchased a t door inner works a treat and I love it. I set my poles at 125 + 5 that I sink into ground, the only mods I’ve made are the rams heads like you have, I even use the original pegs and I’ve had it out in fairly windy conditions and they haven’t let me down yet. Hope you enjoy the CTC and look forward to ya vids. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the lanshan

An excellent tent, especially considering the price tag and weight! I hope it serves you well and that you like it enough to take on the C2C. You can try to tie off the two side guy-lines to something like a fence or a tree if you have them near, to have the guys pulling in a more 'upwards' direction to give more head-room inside. I've seen people suggest even just pitching into the ground but then propping a stick or something underneath to heighten the angle the guy pulls in. It definitely makes the difference! The only other thing (aside from modding cable / connectors etc that I've seen you've started doing) is to keep an eye on how open the two vents are above the doors; I found I needed to play around with things a bit to get them open well. Good luck and have fun!

Pack the fly, inner and footprint separately. That way, if you have a wet fly and footprint you will not soak the inner 👍

I have no idea about these tents, but it seems to me by the time you've a lamp and wet socks hanging from the hooks that'll pull the inner down from the fly anyway. Good luck on the hike.

I just had a camp in my Lanshan 2 Pro. I'm going to sell it because I do find it a bit of a faff to pitch and the large footprint makes it harder to pitch if you're on long hikes and struggling to find a decent spot. However, the space for the weight you just can't fault and it's still a great tent.
@benhikescamps
@benhikescamps Ай бұрын
I think I found the Pro easier to pitch than the standard Lanshan 2 here but I sold mine too due to the condensation ‘raining’ on me when the tent was buffeted by wind. I loved the space in it though. Huge!! Thanks for watching Kev.
@TheWalkingKev
@TheWalkingKev Ай бұрын
@@benhikescamps weirdly the last camp I did in it it was raining most of the night and morning and a nice breeze and I had no condensation at all. Yet on other nights when it was still the condensation was terrible.

Pretty sure your vid from 11months ago showed this tent? Anywhoo... yeah, best tent there is! Maybe onetigis made the better one with the T door, but other than that... a great all rounder especially for my wife and me being full time nomads. Good choice!!

I have the corners of the footprint, inner, and outer joined together with large o- rings Which means I only peg out the o-rings and all three parts of the tent are pitched together Very fast pitch Also the tent is folded away with the damp footprint facing outside so the tent stays dry I have added on each side of the tent, two guys from the top tabs pegged out at 45 degrees This strengthens the pitch in rough weather Poles at 125 in good weather 110 in rough weather

Not used one myself, but that ridgeline would drive me nuts. This is coming from one of the only people to peg out a F2 with a tight ridgeline. As I said I don't know the tent in question, but on instinct I would go a little lower on the poles and tighter on the guylines.

I use a few of the tips from @longsufferinghiker in his brilliant Lanshan 2 mods video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGqYpoOmltSleNE The main line change and the way he attaches the bathtub and groundsheet to the outer have made the biggest changes. Tent is rock solid stable now and pitches in less than 5 minutes. His tips on pitching have been invaluable too.

ive got the exact same tent the t zip is a game changer honestly make it line on both sides follow the side ridge not outward and so it makes a triangle and when you stake the poles it wil;l be nice n flush the poles need to be slightly higher it seems that ridge is bowed. change the plastic ram headf hooks fort the metal 1s before they snap :)
@benhikescamps
@benhikescamps Ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice mate. T-zip does look helpful. I’m reluctant to have the poles any higher than 125cm. That will be pushing it I feel. I’m not using the plastic ram’s head clips. In the video, I showed the new metal ones I’ve attached. Thanks to watching. 👍

Awesome tent, looks abit stretched in the wrong directions, forget the Ramshorn thing, just peg separately... Get a straight ridge & minimal tension on end guys... Got mine with 4 season T-zip, but then bought 3season mesh for choice if warm, can see out & still keep bugs at bay...👍

Did you have to seam seal it, Ben?

It comes done as it’s a different material. However, there are two small area of stitching in the side tie-outs that people recommend putting some seam seal on. Not yet done on mine..

Came here to say this, people think the guys on the fly head & foot panels should be tight for extra room. They're there for wind deflection. I always pitched my old lanshan 1 at 125-130, unless it was proper windy and then everything but the entrance beak got slammed to the ground. And that was facing the lea side.
