Watching older videos of magic he looks like his flat work has improved a lot but his jumping looks more flat in this video might just be me
@PonyCam4 жыл бұрын
He was very excited to be back jumping in this video as he hadn't jumped bigger than a cross pole in a long time and the distance here was also quite a stretch for him, so yep he was jumping a bit flat in this lesson, but overall his jumping technique has improved a lot! He used to knock pretty much anything over 85cm, whereas now he hardly ever touches a pole and is much more manoeuvrable in between fences :-)

Any tips on how to get your confidence back with jumping after a bad fall
@horsesareawesome65084 жыл бұрын
What happened when you fell exactly? If it was your horse refusing then maybe it’s time for both of you to build some confidence. This can be done with pole work, flatting, and even round pen and you could even jump your horse from the ground. Anything to get the horse to be confident with their feet and for you to be confident and feel a little more in control. I find with me a lot of upward and downward transitions take my anxiety away because it not only makes the horse listen but I feel a little more in control. If you just weren’t balanced or something of that sort of you horse usually is confident the above advice would definitely still work but I would also try some strengthening both of muscles and balance maybe and this can be done through bareback, riding without stirrups, or going to the gym and doing leg workouts. Now, I’m not a trainer but I used to be and still sometimes am a rider that lacks a lot of confidence and I help teach lesson kids a lot and those are some of the things I would recommend them (minus maybe the go to the gym or groundwork part) Hope this helps💕
@lottek51504 жыл бұрын
Martha Kate Start small, like poles and crosses and then build it up. Hope you’ll get your confidence back!😊
@PunkRockBarbie4 жыл бұрын
I had to restart over poles, then cross rails. It helped me to ride another horse once over a small fence (a horse that LOVED jumping and I knew hed do it) and then I got back on mine and tried again.

I went riding yesterday. An hours lesson on Silver who has lost trust in me because the last time I rode him before this week I accidentally tapped him with the crop too hard and he told me off via a dirty look that said ouch too hard watch it, his body language said it all. It was an accident though. I didn’t mean to do it that hard and I was going for the saddle pad not the horse. Yesterday I merely tickled him with it as I usually try to do unless he’s being extremely awkward then I tap the saddle pad. Had a stand instructor who was lovely so the lady who runs the stables was watching my lesson supervising. At the end I couldn’t get off Silver because of the couple of weeks break. Took ages to get off him. They didn’t have any lessons after mine though so no rush though somebody kept moving so took 2 people to hold him.

The last fence on z double is supposed to be higher so the horses can see it when they are going towards it Btw cool riding
@PonyCam4 жыл бұрын
Joanne Kay Each fence in a double can be any size when they’re at this height as you/the horse can just see straight over the first to the second, especially when there’s a good 2/3 strides in between and the horse has plenty of time between them. It’s only when they get a lot bigger (bigger than we jump) that the front fence can block the view of the second 😊 x
