Had a ‘22 Streeple. Best bike I’ve ever owned. I’m on the Speedy 1200RR good tech and all. But it can’t match the Streeple’s character. Watching from Pretoria. Love the Cape Coastal Vids.

Anyone acquiring one of these bikes, new or old, should check the suspension settings at the earliest opportunity. My 2024 came from the factory with the settings way off from the "Road" settings they were supposed to be at. One fork was set so soft it was making a loud "clunk" when I went over sharp bumps. Now I've got the front and back suspension dialed into the "Sport" setting according to the adjustment table in the owner's handbook, and no more clunk with much better handling. It seems that Triumph has an issue with outgoing quality inspections where the suspension settings are somehow missing from that checking process. Throughout the bike there are small colored markings where QA inspectors checked various things like bolts being tightened, but there are no colored markings on the fork tops to indicate the suspension settings were checked.

Wow that's pretty insane for a brand new bike! My bike was second hand so not sure how the previous owner was riding with the settings so wrong. Unless they didn't know any better?😅
@rtg1018
@rtg1018 2 ай бұрын
Here's a scary thought - your bike may have been originally delivered back in 2018 with those incorrect settings from the factory. Nobody caught that in the Triumph outgoing factory inspection, at the dealership pre-delivery inspection, or when the new owner had the bike. Everyone made the dangerous assumption that the settings were per the owner's handbook specs as though they expected correct settings from the Showa factory. Only when you took ownership did someone follow through and actually check the settings! I doubt that anyone would intentionally or accidentally put the settings as they were on your bike, even if they were not very experienced at working on their own bikes.

I just wanted to mention that I have exchanged email messages with Triumph's Warranty Team in Hinckley. I pointed them to a KZbin video on the Wheelie Good TV channel which is about another Street Triple 765 RS owner's experiences correcting suspension settings on his new bike. You might want to check that one out and take a look at comments posted by viewers. There are several comments indicating others have been delivered bikes with incorrect settings. I also pointed Triumph to this video of yours. Triumph has responded back indicating the concern is being channeled within their organization for appropriate consideration. My hopes are that it will lead to improved processes at the factory so that no bike leaves without having the settings confirmed to correct. And, I also hope that dealers will be flagged to keep a closer watch on outgoing bikes. In your case, it looks as though the settings were not checked in the original owner's delivery from the Triumph dealer. It also appears that you bought the bike second hand from the Triumph dealer in Cape Town based on what I saw in your previous video, so that's two misses right there.

Thanks! I use a lapel mic with a dead cat wind cover. Inside the helmet behind the cheek pad. GoPro mic adaptor and a Hero 7. The helmet seems to make a big difference to wind noise. My ls2 was quite noisy compared to my current helmet which is a Scorpion Exo R1 Air Carbon.

@@DarkRiderMotovlogs ohhh maaann! haha i'll have to visit the dealer again! its sadly about 150 miles away ! i was hellbent on the kawasaki z900 because the dealer is closer and its a good bike for long term usage (i plan to keep a bike for 10-15 years).

@@Razzer0693 Before you travel 150 miles to visit the dealer, I just wanted to comment to be sure you are not expecting to find that analog style tach selection on the newer model TFT displays from 2020 and later. Sadly, that analog style tach is to my knowledge only a choice on the earlier Street Triple RS models such as the 2018 & 2019s. My 2024 only has the butterfly style choices :(

What a BLAST on the ride, and I'm glad the person is ok after the experience, I think that given my lack of skills what happened is always a possibility for me. Did you set up the suspension with the manual or do you have your preference on doing that? If you do, I would like to request a suspension setup video, I know the manual specifies some settings but then I found people telling to measure this and that so its like.... Hmmm better not to touch, also, any brake fluid in particular to use? I was thinking about changing mine for Motul RBF660 and some EBC pads. (edited out setup question since it was responded to someone else)
@DarkRiderMotovlogs
@DarkRiderMotovlogs 2 ай бұрын
Yeah glad she is ok! Got off very lucky considering what the rest of the pass is like! I just set it per the user manual for now, so set both legs to the "sports" settings and then once I am more comfortable with the bike I'll start making further tweaks like preload, compression and rebound etc. Brake fluid I just use Castrol DOT4, I only ride track once a month so I dont really need racing fluid and the higher boiling point as well as the extra cost that comes with it. Flushing the brakes takes around 5 mins so I just flush it with fresh fluid every few months or after a few track days to keep it sharp. I have however used Motul RBF660 before and at my speed I didnt really notice too much of a difference over regular DOT4. Pads I use the SBS HH Sintered. They give great performance and life but do require a bit of heat to get biting really hard.
