Max Planck was genius and very generous in view of his original works. For instance, Planck's PhD thesis was on Second Law of thermodynamic and related the log-scale of probability W (of atomic arrangements) with entropy S = k.log(W). He was so generous to name the constant k as Boltzmann constant. Indeed, this equation might influenced him a lot while added statical mechanics to radiation problem. Planck became inspiration to Einstein, Bohr, de Broglie, and Schrödinger, indeed he individually treated them and grown their skill with several visits.
