Wahooooooo! So glad you are here! I am Hutterite is one I read a few years ago for a book club and it was so interesting, there are a ton of Hutterites around where I live and it was great to get to know more about their culture. Okay, off to watch the rest of the video . . .

Thank you! Yes, I Am Hutterite was such an interesting read, especially since I knew absolutely nothing about their culture before reading it. I hope you enjoyed the video!

I love Discworld! The witch mini series is my favorite!

I have a feeling that's the one I'm going to read next, especially after hearing that Wyrd Sisters (I think) has references to Macbeth.

YAYAY! So glad you decided to begin! We have a lot of Hutterian colonies around our area. One of my dearest friends in high school was Hutterite! I enjoyed all the Murderbots I've read, but I haven't loved any of them. Though ART did make them more interesting. I ADORE CYRANO!! I have enjoyed the Terry Pratchett I have read, but I haven't gotten to read many yet. I liked Mrs Kipp, but not as much as everyone else seems to have enjoyed it. I agree about the Arthur series - Crossing Places I liked best/equally with Stone and Middle march least. I've been to several performances of MacBeth and so I would say it's my favorite tragedy also, but I've only been to two other tragedies! Again, Welcome!!
@Coffee_and_a_Book4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! That's so interesting about your friend! It's definitely an different lifestyle. I enjoyed ART as well, but I think I enjoyed Mickey a bit more. Maybe because it confused Murderbot so much. I want to find a movie version of Cyrano. I think I would enjoy it even more if I could watch it. I've only read 3 Terry Pratchett so far, and I haven't felt the same about any of them! I would love to see some Shakespeare performances live, but I haven't seen any yet. The closest I've gotten is a performance by an improv Shakespeare group, which was a lot of fun!

@@Coffee_and_a_Book I know the movie Roxanne is based on Cyrano, but I think you might enjoy a dramatized audiobook of the play!

I’ve never heard of Crossley-Holland! 😱 A new author to check out! We enjoy Amulet here, too. The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa is probably a top fav from the first quarter for me! 🤩

I randomly stumbled upon the first Crossley-Holland book at a used book store, and I'm so glad I did (though I had assumed it was adult until I started reading it 😅)

So excited that you started a channel! Subscribed IMMEDIATELY! I Am Hutterite sounds fascinating! Mrs Kip has been on my list for a while! My daughter is a big Macbeth fan too, but she really enjoyed Hamlet when we read it this year.

Thank you so much! For the support, the share, everything. I was so nervous to take the plunge, but I’m glad I have people like you who might actually not mind my ramblings 😅 My brother had only read a couple Shakespeare plays in high school, so I debated on having him read Hamlet or Macbeth with me, but chose Macbeth because it’s shorter. I’m glad your daughter enjoyed Hamlet! It’s one I’ve really enjoyed too. And if you have the opportunity, you should check out the Royal Shakespeare Company’s movie version of it with Patrick Stewart and David Tennant.

Interesting take re: Colour of Magic Vs Mort. FYI Colour of Magic is the only one where its publication order next book (The Light Fantastic) is an actual sequel that carries directly on from a literal cliffhanger. More Discworld in the future? I've read them all plus most of all his other books.
@Coffee_and_a_Book4 ай бұрын
Good to know about The Light Fantastic. That's the only one I actually own, and I will probably try to get to it later this year. My main focus is to read through the Death books in Discworld first. I'm not sure which series I'll work on after that, but I would like to read more of them.
@wolervine4 ай бұрын
@@Coffee_and_a_Book I put less thought into it and read them all in publication order but everyone's different, have fun however you do it.

@@wolervine That was how I was going to do it originally, but I'm buddy reading the Death books with a couple other people so I just shifted my plans. But yes, having fun is the main goal!
