@@MidlifePrices actually I got almost everything done until I came to the point of installing the drop outlet. I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to put those two pieces together. Did you have to go buy a rivet tool? There isn't a single video on KZbin anywhere that's using that same drop outlet that's in your video, and everybody else has different types and then they have to use a rivet tool. This project is turning into something much bigger than I anticipated

@@MidlifePrices now I understand why I didn't know how to install the drop outlet, because in your video you're standing in front of it so we can't see that part

Great! ? Where did you buy your barrel?
@MidlifePrices6 жыл бұрын
Should have mentioned that. We got lucky and had a neighbor getting rid of them. Got 3 for free! They're kind of like Rubbermaid trash cans with spigots and lids.

What kind of screws did you use to attach the boards? I’m working on a very similar shed, just smaller. You mentioned in a previous comment how the metal is a little flimsy.I’m worried about the right attachment so it doesn’t just fall off in heavy rain.
@MidlifePrices3 жыл бұрын
Just self tapping metal screws. The metal is a little flimsy, but for a short run, there won't be much weight to support, so it should be ok. We haven't had any issues with ours. Good luck!

Caught about half a barrel in just a small rain, but then realized the spigot was leaking! Would have caught more. Gotta make sure all the barrels are buttoned up, then get those pedestals made so I can get a bucket under the bottom spigot. Thanks for watching!

Why fascia board? Couldn't you just have screwed into the ribbed wall panel?
@MidlifePrices5 жыл бұрын
I probably could have, but the metal on the shed is pretty flimsy, so I thought it might provide a little extra stability. Not really sure if it added anything or not!

Trying to cut PVC pipe 1/4 of 4 inch or so put caps on each end. Put a in it to run pipe down to barrel. Where the opening on PVC pipe is put door screen or something to keep leaves mosquitoes etc out.

Just a quick question, why rainwater when you already have a well?
@MidlifePrices6 жыл бұрын
Valid question! A couple of answers... If you watch our other videos, you’ll notice we’ve had multiple problems with the piping from the well to our trailer. Rainwater collection can be done closer to our home and will be free once it’s set up. Finally, I don’t know how long I can count on that well and what it might cost if problems occur. Basically the same reasons we prefer to collect our own power. Independence is nice.
