As others have pointed out here, she's a Julliard trained opera singer but learned fairly early on that that wasn't really her métier. She moved on to Broadway and performed a lead role in Jesus Christ, Superstar but, eventually, left the stage and migrated even further into jazz and the blues, where she finally found her true home.

Scott Bradlee is an absolute genius when it comes to arrangements, and not a bad piano player either. Morgan James is a beast of a vocalist, the cover of Dear prudence she and Haley Reinhart sing together is amazing, you need to listen to it, Tara. I don't know how they do it, but PMJ always provides covers as good as, or even better than the originals. Their arrangements are superb. For another spectacular one, check out their version of "All About That Bass" with Morgan, Haley, and Arianna. Magnificent!(a double bass solo you don't want to miss)

The "yeah I know..." part of the song is actually sung in that manner on the original song; it gives those normally simple words some punch but, oddly, in the Aerosmith version, it sound more conversational singing it that way. I love how style and genre changes the way you interpret the same line.

I’m a few days short of 53 yrs old so I still go by the old school ways of calling a beautiful woman, beautiful.
