You guys need to check earlier heavy deftones. The screaming back then was much better (before he fucked his vocal chords up). My own summer, Around the fur, headup, lotion, elite, engine #9, teething

yea your right, just thinking on how he used to belt it on My Own Summer he had it on lock, so he messed up his vocals at some point?

​​​@@marylandstationmusic9422Messed up the vocals while they were recording their 3rd and most successful album "White Pony" in 2000... The song "Elite" (with which they won a Grammy btw) is the one that truly messed him up. It's 3 minutes of pure screaming, heaviest screams he's ever done. Their promotional tour for the album just added more fuel to the fire, as he tried his best to sound as close to the studio version. Ended up with a partially paralyzed left vocal chord, all thanks to improper screaming technique he used for about 10 years. I don't think he ever had surgery for it. All that considered, he still sounds amazing in the studio... And his live performances were absolutely amazing even a few years after the injury.
