I enjoy it, too. Most of it is spot on. I would, however, prefer to see the original artist performing, rather than Led Zep or Van Halen. Those guys have recieved more than their fair share of publicity off of Greta. They dont deserve it, and they dont need it. They have plenty of their own. Not really bitching, just observing. Think we have all grown immune to all that comparison nonsense.. Do want to say, thank you. Your reactions are entertaining, and echo my feelings, almost to a T. Ive really enjoyed the full coverage of the album. Beginning to end is exactly the best way to listen to The Battle at Garden's Gate. And, of course, with headphones. 😉

To answer your question “I wonder what one of their shows is like”, you were absolutely correct. It is people going mental the whole time. I saw them in Chicago a few weeks ago, easily one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. One of the few bands that are better live than in studio.

That deep, powerful sound you like is a Deep Om, around 963 HZ, and is used in meditation. Josh, especially, is very philosophical and spiritual. He frequently wears t-shirts or a necklace with the Om symbol and the vocal technique at the beginning of the song represents his love of world music. They do an extraordinary job of mixing so many different sounds together and making it sound cohesive.

Just want to say thanks, Marco! I've been following GVF and seeing them play live for 5 years. Every time I see them they get better. The first time I saw them was at a small venue in Dallas and my 7th time will be in Chicago in September for the Starcatcher Tour (you HAVE TO go). I've watched them grow from having to jam for a good part of their set because they didn't have many songs yet, to filling stadiums and having to pick which songs to play when so many of them are fucking epic. I've been listening to them so much for so long that I can lose sight of just how special they really are. Watching your reactions have reminded me just how lucky we are to be sharing their space and experiencing their magic. Have to say your background clips really add to the music. GVF could have some really impactful songs if they made better music videos. That's the only area where I think they're lacking.

Saw them recently for the first time. Just as good in concert. Entire audience at The Greek Theater stood for their entire performance. I always wished I had seen Led Zeppelin in their prime (I was just a little too young) and I walked away from that concert feeling like I saw a great band in their prime, which satisfied that urge.

One of those bands that if either of the members leave, you WILL know. They have the highest power to musicianship in modern music, literally #1.. Bands that are at the top of that "musicianship" meaning are bands like Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Queen, Rush, Led Zeppelin, & ect - you get it. It is a beautiful thing, CANNOT WAIT for a new album by these guys!!

This song is so Awesome… all their music is filled with incredible instrumental sound and meaningful lyrics. This song is on my playlist when I work out at the gym. I start my work out with Black Smoke Rising, then Edge of Darkness… followed by Barbadians, then Built by Nations, next is Weight of Dreams and finally…Age of Machine….. It’s a kick ass playlist that really will get the adrenaline and heart pumping. I sent this playlist to a very good friend that I went to high school with ( we both love classical Rock) and I wanted his first introduction to GVF to be epic ( because like me, before I found your channel and you introduced me to GVF WITH YOUR REACTION VIDEOS….he had never heard of them )….and let me tell you, his mind was blown. Because listening to those specific songs in that exact Oder will twist your dome back and send you tumbling head first down the GVF RABBIT HOLE…. And you won’t come back up until you have absorbed every bit of their musical catalog into your mental….Lol

Wow, that's just totally kick ass man. I loved that whole freakin story. Glad you and your friend found yet even another thing to bond over. Yeah man it all started with my buddy Anthony that suggested I listen to it. It was over an Instagram audio message. I wrote it down in my notes and then the rest is history. So cool to see the chain of events. And while I don't listen to GVF at the gym, lately I've been listening to the same thing for the first time in my life, So I totally relate to the specific order of the songs. Thank you for writing out the comment, it really started my day off. Have a great weekend brother let's go LET'S GOOOO 🤙🏽✌🏾💙

Yes, yes, and oh yes! This song is a masterpiece, just keeps growing, and building, and opening out. 'We need some healing! And the fact that it drops back, repeatedly, into that brooding and ominous intro, asks, "When will we learn? WILL we learn? Can we change? We must." After you LISTEN to the song, go find the official music video (self produced by the band) and WATCH the song. I promise, you will not go away unaffected. Truly, some of their finest work, to date. ✌💖&🤝.

Those backing vocals during the instrumentals always give me chills. I think the word I'd use to describe them is "ethereal" I know you've already listened to it and are editing; I hope you enjoyed the rest of the album! I'm sure you did, and Tears of Rain is such a beautiful song, can't wait to see the reaction to it I know you wanna listen to other stuff for a bit after this album so I recommend Opeth. If you like metal with guttural vocals, some fantastic songs to see reactions to would be Dirge for November, Harlequin Forest, Deliverance, Master's Apprentices, Demon of the Fall, Advent or Serenity Painted Death If you're not a fan of guttural vocals, fear not; they have lots of mellow songs too. Some of my favourites are Harvest, Death Whispered a Lullaby, Face of Melinda, Hex Omega, Hours of Wealth, Moon Above Sun Below, Folklore, Strange Brew, and The Garroter; they have a couple gorgeous pure instrumental pieces too like Patterns in the Ivy and Goblin Yeah that's a lot I know lol they have an incredible range of songs, and there are so many more I'd recommend. They've been my absolute favourite band for a long long long time
@tunesidig
@tunesidig 2 жыл бұрын
Ethereal is definitely the word to describe it, I agree! As for the reactions, so, yesterday actually I had some time to think. I love doing these First Reactions that I'm doing now. I actually have so much fun. There is an issue that they are time consuming. I did indicate I'm going to move into Music Video as well as Live Performance first reactions which are way less time consuming. But that still leaves studio work out in the dry. SO, I'm going to also do some quick First Reaction videos on my Instagram. Very little editing, if at all. My list of music is long it's... it's just ungodly insane. I think I have 6 albums and about 60 songs. I'll never be able to give the green screen treatment to all of them. But I also don't want to dilute the First Reactions on my Channel. If you're on my channel, and you see a studio song reaction, I want that to have the full production. So I'm going to start plowing through songs and posting to my Instagram. and I think that'll start if not this weekend, next week. And I can go through that extensive list you just gave me haha!
@GrimFelArt
@GrimFelArt 2 жыл бұрын
@@tunesidig Yeah it definitely does look like a lot of fun! And as someone who very recently learned to edit for my own content and am still learning, oh boy do I get that time consuming element lol I'll throw you a follow on insta for sure, I might have already actually. Excited to see what you react to on there 💖 And yeah I also get the "song list 10 kilometres long" thing, I have lots that I wanna cover but don't know where to start with it lmao As per live performance videos, Opeth have plenty up. And they're phenomenal live, I've seen them three times and 100% will see them again whenever they come back to Sydney. They're such fantastic musicians, so tight. Sorry for the long list, it's just so damn hard to pick favourites! I don't think there's a single song by them that I dislike 🔥🔥

@@GrimFelArt So I saw you followed, thank you! It may have been premature of me to say I'm going to do them on instagram. It may have to be tick tock. I completely forgot that Instagram does not have their own content ID system. I don't think I'd be able to play even a little bit of the song. UGGHHHH f. I'm currently testing out there copyright flagging system on my tester Instagram. If everything fails then it'll have to be on a TikTok which will be different than the one that is currently live. I'm going to start a new account. Ugh. So much work.

@@GrimFelArt well, I have some good news. I uploaded a reaction video of Greta Van Fleet and another one from the go team. Instagram did nothing. Seems as though it's perfectly okay. I'm trying to find out why that is, and I googled it and something came up that said as long as you use backing video and you "try to keep it short", it should be okay. So for now, I think I'm just going to go ahead and use Instagram. If I run into troubles I'll have to switch over to tick tock because there's a major loophole and TikTok that allows you to post copyright material. My guess is that since Tik Tok is King right now Instagram doesn't want to lose people so they're probably paying the bill for copyright material.. which means good news for people like me and you :)

I'm pretty certain they're channeling some sort of messenger gift from God or the universe or whatever. It's not about them they're God's they're just young men normal average with a deep sincere passion for music. They're channeling whatever it is and delivering it to the world and we are blessed to be able to receive it.
