In my reactions I show you my initial reaction (or fangirling) to music videos/songs, and sometimes also comment about the technical aspects, or the production of the video if anything such stands out to me. My name is Sarah, I have a degree in Filmmaking and Graphic Design/Photography. I get asked a lot what I have directed or done and who I have worked with to call myself a filmmaker. Rose blue is not connected, it’s just a side project they did for girl cafe gun. The nightmare arc is over, dystopia is a brand new separate arc. Dystopia is about cyber bullying and how the haters harsh words can hurt people and that their are consequences Also the reason y Rose Blue sounds different is because Leez and Ollounder, the girls music producers didn’t create Rose Blue, it was made by another music production team.

So basically R.o.S.E BLUE is about them being trapped in a fantasy land in the crystal and Jiu was the only one to escape that fantasy land, so she decided to go back into the crystal, but armed with a gun that can help the others escape, knowing that she only had 5 bullets and could only free 5 people she decided to sacrifice herself to save the other, she became desperate to leave and see her beloved friends (why she tried to shoot herself) but couldn't and was trapped in the crystal forever. My bias personally is Jiu so any shot of Jiu just sends my brain a hella lotta dopamine lol

You are right Sarah, the story is a continuation of Scream and the video plays on that too. The people with masks represent those that leave malicious comments and hide behind their screens, thats why the are blurred. Siyeon can be seen surrounded by statues with the mouth covered, representing the wish to silence those haters. Yoohyeon's arrow represents how the malicious comments feel like you are being shot. SuA's line at the end says "too many angels dying now, in gonna change your mind" which we think the angels refer to all those Idols that have taken their lives recently because of the malicious comments. Also, SuA's name is pronounced as it's read in English, with a normal S sound. Thats how she and the girls pronounce it. Loved your reaction! Thank you

Even though Rose Blue isn't connected to their other songs, it's still pure Dreamcatcher so you imagine all these connections to their songs that only exist in your head. The song wasn't written by their usual production team which is why it sounds different.

The guy wearing a mask is describing people who overpowered by the technology they use to spread hate with anonymous accounts, u can see the effect they use when jiu passing them looks like absorbed. we can hear the line "where is the love" and the line "Too many angels are dying now" is simply showing the world nowadays. Yoohyeon scene where she arrowed herself means we need to be careful about our power, we can hurt other people or ourselves.

Hey it's great to see your reaction again! My opinion as to why Yoohyeon was shooting herself, it's kinda like sometimes the words you say may end up hurting you back in one way or another - in relation to dealing with haters - and yeah the masked person is depicting the online haters hiding behind their keyboard, that's why there's that distorted kinda effect over them, and if you look closely you can probably notice him/her holding to what seems like a mobile phone, hate comments.

dreamcatcher is on a journey showing different ways of words affecting people in the dystopia we live in. notice how in scream they say at first "please, i dont want to scream" and at the end they switch to "i just want to make you scream". The mv is all about corruption of something that once was good, and i think it wants to show how intense hate and bullying can turn the abused into the abuser to continue spreading even more hate. here in boca, lyrics are about silencing the mouths of the people who hate on you, maybe with a more violent approach? dami's verses about protecting someone once you see the hate on the world, that could be another way of looking at it. i think it's necessary to have this conversation about cyberbullying, specially on the kpop idol culture: "too many angels die now" i dont need to explain how is that related w insults and harrassing online.

I'm not fluent in Korean (not even close), but I read somewhere that when it comes to names starting with S, the rule of thumb is that Si and Sy = She. Everything else is just an S. So it would be She-yon or Sue-ah, not See-yon or Shoo-ah.

Your reaction when Dami goes off? That's the whole internet at this point, I feel like. But yeah, Gahyeon really has it out for us in this comeback. omg. And if you watch their past few title tracks you can see her development. In a way it's obvious that this HAD to be her time, but she's still shockingly good at killing it. You said that this sounds more mainstream, but still very like Dreamcatcher. Interesting observation! I can sorta see that, but I'm not music smart enough to pinpoint why that is. Anyone else got an idea maybe? Also, does anyone have theories about the scene where Yooheon shoots herself? I'm so intrigued by that, since Hwasa used a similar image in LMM (Sarah, I know you've already reacted to Maria, but LMM and Maria sorta go together, so... maybe another reaction?).

A reaction to LMM is coming soon :) Also about the mainstream thing (which only applies to the verses in my opinion), I think it's just because the verses sound more pop based than usual. I'm also not educated in music but I think that could be a reason. They're usually more rooted in rock I think.
