Thank you! Perfect for today, and one of my all-time favorite songs...not just THIS version, but anytime I heard Ray Charles sing it, I would stop what I was doing, and sing along with him. So I've now gone to the the video you used for this reaction, and will be singing along again. Thank you! 😀 PS...I was born in 1949, and in just 18 days, I will turn 74.

I don't understand why Ray Charles was so patriotic when America wasn't always kind to him. I wish I could know what he was thinking. Nevertheless, an emotionally charged version of this song. Rest in peace Ray although I'm not certain we deserved you.

I understand his feelings behind the song. I am a black American and I know the sacrifices we made to save this nation from the day the first enslaved person arrived these lands to now. We love this country even when it appears to not love us. 23 years of service US Army.

I have a recommendation! I actually have a few😅 Prayer Of The Refugee by Rise Against. 45 and Get UpBy Shinedown. When the seasons change by Five Finger Death Punch. Just to name a few! Obviously you don't have to but just an idea! I thought I'd suggest since my birthday is in a few days
