Absolutely. Over on Reddit it's filled with them. You get many people who swear they understand Tool and go around pointing fingers, judging, being cunts, etc. They clearly don't get it and haven't stopped to read the lyrics and think for themselves. It's ok. Everyone takes their own time to grow and learn but Tool fans are definitely hit or miss. But in my experience irl, never met a fan I didn't enjoy speaking to and who wasn't polite and honest.

Tool is an automatic given as a great band with the vast majority of open and honest first time listeners. This is often acknowledged by even those who are devout to a genre of music with a very distant theoretical juxtaposition.. though it may not align with the headspace they’re aspiring towards personally. It’s a shame when it’s the case that some who love can be relentless and overbearing in their zeal, to where there’s a negative stigma attached to a band who can firmly stand on their own merits, and the hype really just detracts from the initial experience.

Absolutely love your reactions. As a die-hard Tool fan, it is frustrating to constantly see and hear of other fans giving us a bad rep or a bad name. As with life in general, some people just gravitate towards the negative side of everything, looking for problems and differences instead of brotherhood and connection. 'Keyboard Warriors' taking shots at everyone from behind the safety of their screens. If you're able to drown out voices, I believe you'll find Tool Army to be a collection of pretty cool, chill people with a profound appreciation for the artistry, insightfulness, and unique presentation of Tool. We are amped up to share it with you and hear your perspectives!

7:15 that moment when you as a drummer just have to sit back and think how the hell does he play that, it just sounds so good. You are right I know a few people who have been turned off by "tool fans", which is ironic considering just how down to earth they all are. In the early 2000's I heard through a flatmate that Danny was making an appearance at a local music store, I think every young drummer in the city was there, we were all little star-struck, but he was so chill and almost embarrassed to be in front of everybody. I could think of dozens of questions I wished I'd asked, everybody seemed tongue-tied but he was very gracious and afterwards just walked off down the street.

I love watching you guys react to good music, you each pick up on different things and it's so interesting to watch the two of you discuss the things that catch you. If I could throw a suggestion in for musical selection: The Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. I've been trying to get channels to react to them for a hot minute, but they always get ignored. I feel like it's because their name might give the impression that they aren't a serious band, but they most assuredly are, and seriously talented at that. Their work is masterfully written and performed, and the engineering behind it is some of the best and most unique I've ever heard. Specifically the song "Found God in a Tomato" is a great one to hook new listeners, "Cornflake" has one of the most unusual but addicting set of riffs out there, and one of my personal favorites lyrically is "...And the Addled Abstraction of Being", though all of their lyrics are profound in their own right. Hope you guys give them a shot, even if it's own your own time, I doubt you'll be disappointed. Either way, keep at what you're doing, well wishes to you both!

They are great musicians. A few years later I feel like I heard the song for the first time when I discovered what he was singing about. He's talking about uncovering the shadow side of his subconscious mind because he wants to experience a change in his life. Theees actually a very cool video on KZbin called Holistic approach to writing music from tool. Very interesting analysis of their style and why you get the feelings you do whilst listening

Tool are absolute masters at their craft. Keep goin with your Tool journey. If I may make a suggestion give Meshuggah a try. The song clockworks, and do the drum play through cam.

I love the bass riff in this song so much. If you guys ever get around to more A Perfect Circle, check out the song Orestes. It is an absolute banger.

Also would like to put forward Jambi & Vicarious for you lads - while not songs every Tool fan always raises as some of their best musically I’d argue they hold a very strong place in the zeitgeist of songs that cut through as examples of outstanding musicianship.

Tool was the first concert I ever went to at age 15. I had no idea, until I was older, what an incredible group of next level musicians they were. Unfortunately, my 15 year old brain was not able to comprehend the depth of the talent in front of me at that time haha. I get it now tho. I FUH-HUH-CKIN' get it 🤣 Incredible band. Good choice guyzz!

7empest is the culmination of their life long work. Some say it's a song solely to put Jones on a pedestal to show his greatness. If you want to hear a guitar master doing his thing, I recommend highly. It's my 3rd fav Tool song of all time. Love the videos.

Spot on with tool fans...we are elitists. Yes, their composition is unique. Yes, their musicianship and engineering is unique. But when you're an asshole about it, nobody will care. Thankfully, the musicians themselves aren't like that. I highly highly highly recommend descending, tempest, or invincible from their new album to see how beautiful the engineering is. Chocolate chip trip from drum panning effects in your headphones.

Great video and reaction guys! I love Tool, but it’s not everyone’s favorite flavor for sure. Here are some suggestions you may want to check out- Volbeat- Temple of Ekur Avatar- Hail the Apocalypse Gojira- Stranded Slipknot- Custer Keep making videos, I’ll keep watching!

Tool are such a once in a lifetime discovery that it is not worth bothering too much about hardcore entitled fans who don't get you. You can be sure you have a big support from the rest of us, and I'm certain we are the vast majority. I really cannot wait for future Tool uploads. Bad apples always stick out from the crowd when you're a good person.
