I have a z900 late 2019, technically a z948cc but we won't get into that, everything you've said about the power delivery and the smoothness, is so spot on, kawasaki definitely delivered for streetbike quick nimble and can get through traffic so easy, the quickshifter and full akrapovic exhaust system totally changes the bikes performance, I've also had the kawasaki z800 sugomi also amazing bike same type of performance on that one too

I have the z800 2015. I can sometimes powerwheelie in 1st gear, but very rarely. Now i just clutch up in 2nd. works fine. Still need more practice tho.

I've been catching up on Kawasaki bikes since my 1978 KZ1000 and I see there's been 'some changes'! In all these bike video's you guys seem to always be riding out West or on some wide European mountain roads and it all looks great. But I'm living in Connecticut- Suburbia USA and our traffic is "horrendous"- light to light and there's slowww traffic most of the time! Ahhhhh- maybe I just should stick to my 'kayaking'- at least on the river 'in the middle of the week' I can get away from most of these people.- Ride safe and enjoy!

It absolutely needs a quickshifter. The 2021 mt-09 comes standard with a Q/S up and down. Hopefully some others will follow suit.

The reason why you were having a hard time getting it to clutch up in 2nd is the KTRC. On the Z900 it functions as an anti wheelie too. In first it has the grunt to overcome the electronics. In "rider" mode you have the option of turning off the KTRC but he didn't have it set up that way.

@@mkx200sx good eye. Didn't catch that. Odd that he can't get it to stand up then. The reviews of the 2017 Z all stated it will power wheelie in 3rd. Hell, even with the KTRC on mine will carry the tire on a hard launch

if it’s anything like my RS (basically the same platform) the traction control turns back on every time you start the bike. The fact the wheel comes up at all looks like wheelie control is set light. Pretty sure in “rider” mode, wheelie control can be disabled.

8:33 KTRC is off. Rider is grinding the revlimiter which cuts power. Yes "rider" mode = (personal setting) then switch to full power and turn off KTRC. Then there will be a light turned on "Off KTRC" in top left of the screen.

Depends on the rider. The MT10 will be technically slightly faster, especially on top end. But a Columbian drag racing channel called fullgas has videos of a guy on a Z outright sucking the headlight out of a MT10 pull after pull. Dude even jumps a 1290 super Duke up to about 90mph. Even outruns a s1000r before losing to another S1000R. Rider is more important
