Yamaha brakes from when they would seize as soon as they looked at winter. Good to see you using a Gu cheesecake pot. Worth buying a load of copper washers to keep in stock. Buying a pack of 100 is often not expensive. To get the pistons out when they are relatively free like those - block the banjo bolt hole and use the air line through the small hole between the 2 caliper halves. Or sometimes you can bolt one half upside down to the other with the halves blocking each others small transfer holes - then blow out with compress air in the banjo hole / bleed nipple hole. The reservoir lid is a common feature on Yamahas from around then Point brake / clutch pistons at something you don't care about when blowing them out! The extra seal is probably for the clutch pushrod into the engine.

Awesome tips there, thanks Katy... the reservoir lid astonished me 🤣

Very enjoyable again Ash. Thanks. But please, put a clean bit of paper on your bench when you are putting hydraulic components together. The tolerances have to be fine so any little bits of grit are going to get you. I was cringing when you were batting your clutch master piston around in all that dirt. Live and learn, eh? Thanks for posting.

For future get yourself some internal caliper piston pliers. Not expensive and grip the inside not the out. The clutch slave cylinder can be a pain to bleed. I did mine by reverse bleeding. (Syringe pumping fluid in from the bottom rather than trying to pump it down from the top.)
