Very interesting stuff. It's nice to see companies actually including such things into their machines right from factory. This to me looks like a very high-tech version of the Rekluse clutch you can get for other bikes. I love the idea of the Rekluse but they only offer it for a handful of bikes. I don't do a lot of riding and only get out when my friend is able to do a team ride. So when we go into the "city" I tend to feel uneasy with clutching and having impatient motorists behind me. So in my journey of shopping around for future bikes I was looking for models that had a Rekluse kit available for it. I've been looking into bike brands you don't see as often as you do a Honda or Yamaha to be different. But I might have to add this to the list as a possible choice since it comes with its' own variant of the Rekluse built in. I haven't ridden a fully clutched bike since I graduated high school back in 2002, that's 22 years ago. The more I go trail riding the better I get but even then I still don't do it often enough. :)

The industry is finally moving forward with some very cool technology. If you think the E-clutch is cool, check out Yamaha's contribution to clutch less shifting. No shift pedal and no clutch lever, and the bike shifts automatically through all 6 gears! But don't worry if you feel like changing gears yourself. They give you shift panels on the left handlebar just like the shifters in the Lamborghinis and Formula 1 cars which take the place of the missing shift lever. Won't be long before Kawasaki and Suzuki have theirs out. It's the future!

The CB is much, much more popular than the CBR where I live. Along with the MT07 is the middleweight naked you see more on the roads. I've had mine since 2022, with the upshift quickshifter from Honda, and I creakin' love the thing. This e-clutch seems like something that could be useful in stop lights and, well, nowhere else. We filter in every other situation, so no traffic jams. BTW, did you hard launch it? I'm curious about how well it would respond to that. And also how the traction control will do. In mine, although it has saved my ass a couple of times, it's SUPER jerky and unrefined, it actually puts your groin up against the tank whenever it activates.
@LifeOfBurch4 ай бұрын
You’d be surprised how much more you’d use the E-Clutch than you think! I didn’t expect to want to use it 100% of the time, but I did and it was great! If nothing else I’m sure you’d enjoy the ability to also quickshift down. I didn’t hard launch it unfortunately, but as soon as I got home I was like…damn I should’ve tried that 😂 I did some speedy-ish takeoffs and it handled it great though, so I’d imagine it would be pretty seamless. I’m not sure that TC was ever activated for me. Had a couple times where I found the limits of the brakes and ABS did its thing though. I’m not familiar with the other years of the CB, but this left side hand control has been updated for 2024. It has a TC button right there so you can easily turn it on and off. I didn’t get a chance to mess with it, and I’m not sure if that was already a feature previously, but pretty cool nonetheless 🤘🏻

I found the CB to be much more comfortable than the CBR, however the CBR is still comfier than a “real” sport bike. Think the sporty end of sport touring posture. The CB’s seat felt more comfortable, but looking back at footage, they look like the same seat. So maybe it was all in my head? I found my neck getting sore on the CBR since I was hunched over more, and it felt like I was looking up constantly. But all my bikes at home have me in an upright stance, so it could just be that I wasn’t used to it. The CBR’s wind deflection was nice, but the airflow on the CB was much appreciated as the temps got up there in the afternoon.

I have been going through all your videos trying to figure out what my first bike should be with no experience. The CB with the E-gear and upright position seems promising. Would you recommend this as a beginner bike?
@LifeOfBurch4 ай бұрын
I think it could absolutely be a great first bike! IF your budget allows it, and IF you have self control though. There’s always a risk of dropping your first bike, or finding out it’s not for you and needing to sell it. So make sure your wallet is prepared for both options. Dropping a brand new bike, or losing the cost of depreciation/dealer fees/etc, can often empty your wallet more than just a cheap used bike would cost outright. As for the self control, lots of people wouldn’t recommend a 650 as a first bike because of the power. But I’m a bit biased because I started on a 750 and loved it. As long as you’re smart enough to not ride outside of your skill level, you’ll be fine. The power is very useable and won’t get you in trouble in the lower rev range. It’ll also be plenty of power to not outgrow the bike quickly like you would a 300/400/500cc bike. I had my 750 for 5+ years before selling it because I never outgrew the power. The CB650R is also plenty light, maneuverable, and confidence inspiring to make it a great first bike. The seating position is comfy, but sporty enough. I loved it! The E-Clutch is great for learning to ride, but make sure you’re still practicing with that clutch! Use the tech as an aid and not a crutch and you’ll be golden. Hope that helps!! 🤘🏻

Have you ever ridden Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 ?
@altafhussain33904 ай бұрын
Is the bike short or u guys are really tall. xD. Coz it seems very short from the tails end . From ur camera's POV , the tail section on CBR 650R looks very short.

I hope they make this an option for the Rebel 1100

When I only owned a navi I said clutch wasnt needed to call it a motorcycle, after owning a rebel idk where I stand! haha

That’s why the E-Clutch is so rad! It’s like a blend between the convenience the Navi brings, and the fun factor/“normalcy” the Rebel brings! 🙌🏻🤘🏻

So the E-clutch comes back automatically several seconds after you pulled the clutch lever?
@peterenis47523 ай бұрын
After the start I think you have to roll a bit. But normal ride it just back on like after 1-2 seconds.

How do you compared this to Honda’s DCT?
@RPDXC4 ай бұрын
Dct is fully auto. This is still manual, but much simpler. Or very similar to the dct in manual mode, only changing gears but never worrying about a clutch.

How does this compare to riding on DCT like the 1100?

This Sunday’s video will be a direct comparison of the E-Clutch to DCT! Stay tuned 😁🤘🏻

So what's the difference between this and Hondas dct?
@LifeOfBurch4 ай бұрын
In the simplest terms- DCT is an automatic bike that gives you the option to shift with finger triggers, while E-Clutch is a manual bike that gives you the option to shift with the foot lever without ever touching the clutch lever. Both options can be operated without a clutch lever to shift, and both option allow you to even stop/start without touching a clutch.
