Chris, just a suggestion from a Engine Builder. As you know the heat cycles are generally enough for any modern Engine, but if you want that extra piece of mind, while you're out cruising, close the throttle now and then, let the revs drop way down, and let the engine braking compression put some pressure on cylinder seal. Of course remember to downshift a few gears so you don't lug when pulling away. Do this a few times after the heat cycles, and hammer it HARD. T. S. RACING

If this is a zero mile bike, best break-in is to accelerate from a higher gear(3rd or 4th)from about 35 mph to around 80-100 mph and let off the gas, do this several times and rings will be seated in about 30 minutes. Change the oil and filter as soon as you get back from the initial run, one would be surprised at the amount of real fine metal particles in the oil after about 30-40 miles! I did this with all my bikes I bought new over the years and decades and the ones I still own now some 20-30 years later all run perfectly and do not use or leak oil. Cool video, thanks Chris!

It's always amazed me how riders will rag on other riders that don't ride like they do. Who cares if a lowered bike won't work for or appeal to someone that likes leaning? It's not their ride or their video. From movies and TV to KZbin... It drives me nuts when someone complains about content they didn't create not being the way they want it. Seems like the manufacturer is going backwards in Hp & tq , but raising the prices. My 05 GSXR 1000R made 162hp bone stock. It was dyno'd by Eraldo Ferracci himself at Fast by Ferracci.

Love the content and the amount of info ive got on the gsxr 1000, i got myself a 2021 gsxr 1000r old stock bike so new i got my first service done at 375 miles (semi synthetic oil in) , i did those miles not too easy but not really going over 7-8krpm but after 400 miles ive been opening it up 10-12krpm and i had to do a long highway ride couple weeks ago had 500 plus miles on it at the time. Do you think i did the right thing for a reliable street bike? I was confused with manual break in vs what info is out there Thanks

The casio display now makes the gsxr unique. And that expensive color display shows you MPH in guess what, high contrast black and white lettering. Buy a carbon fiber front wheel with that money.

Hey Chris, I was considering which of the 3 to buy: '23 R1, '23 gsxr1000r, and '23 zx10r. I really wanted the gixxer, but ended up getting the R1. Seems like the R1 is more modern and worth the price tag whereas the gixxer is the same bike it was 5 years ago and not worth the $18k price. zx10r, i've heard, has a lot of electrical issues with the newer models. Any thoughts on my choice?

Just bought a 18 a while back and someone flushed up the forks with the triple tree. Heard it is supposed to be like 3/4 of a inch but like to know the best distance for riding.

Just measured mine. Stock is about 2cm or right around 3/4 in. Flush must be terrifying. If you've got the tools it's easy to adjust. Or a local shop can do it for ya in less than an hour labor.

I really got interested in this 60 to 130mph time, i really suck at leaving the line, so this might be better to try out. I dug some gps data from last year, my Gen1 Busa did 4.3s 60-130mph, i dont know if its in line or not with the bike, gearing 18/40.

Seems like your fun would be in roll racing. Usually start out rolling 50-60 at the same gear 1st or 2nd then line em up and slam em drag style first to 160-180 wins youll see them clearly pull away whoever accelerates the fastest wins it 💯🏆

Depends massively on rider weight as well. Anyone over 180-200lbs will never keep up with the jockeys on an NA bike.

Yes it works fine for that. It will actually make the bike more comfortable to ride. I would drop the rear about 2" and leave the front alone. Call my parts guy. He can hook you up with what you need. 864-244-5447 Ask for Shane.

@Jonas Rueda I have looked at Dave Moss tuning and tuned the suspension to what he had on his 2006 gsxr 600 and adjusted for my weight. I am not 100% if it is tuned correctly. I just had all suspension rebuilt by the dealer. This is my very first bike so I am learing as I go.

Gotta love Suzuki. They’re a real rider’s bike, both the GSX-R and the GSX-S are near-perfect bikes. Chassis, suspension, brakes, engine, transmission, there’s literally nothing on them that’s in need of changing. Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Honda are not ever as well-balanced. They all need immediate work in one area or another, and if it’s the chassis that’s at fault, there’s nothing that can be done anyway. Just do yourselves a favor and go with a Suzuki.
