Hi, I've had an X-1 for just over a year now and am really digging it. I honestly didn't care for the bike at first; it had firmware I really couldn't work with for the kind of riding I do (real/actual mountainbiking). I don't live too far from the Luna HQ, in El Segundo, CA, so I took the bike down there and their tech changed the program as I waited. I've also made several mods/upgrades to the bike as I like to personalize my bikes for the terrain I ride and my ride safety and comfort. Now I absolutely LOVE my X-1, it's so fast and so quiet; it really is a fun and reliable bike. Good luck with yours.

Hi Larry - after reading a lot of comments on YT about people not understanding the pre-order process that Luna does every 4 months, I reached out to Luna Cycles head of Customer Service and suggested that they explain this process better so people are not frustrated when they see "out-of-stock" all the time. He agreed with me that they need to update the website and let people know when next order period will be ready. He also acknowledged that there is a problem with their ecommerce system where people don't get the notifications when the bikes are back in stock. However, in his response email he stated the following "We will have some exciting news in the coming weeks actually, if your friends are looking to buy they may want to subscribe to our blog, which can be subscribed to at the bottom of any page on the site. " I'm not sure what the news will be, but I'm hoping it will be something along the lines of that they will now be stocking the bikes instead of pre-order which takes several months. But thats just my hope. Please make sure you subscribe to the Luna Cycle blog so you can get their announcements.

@@BikeRidez Sorry I cannot find your name...But I really appreciate your post about this. I want an Apollo so bad I can taste it! Raced Mt Bikes in the late 80's and early 90's and still have both of my Ventana race bikes...I give kudos for riding in Las Vegas at 100 degrees....that's too hot for me to ride. I like riding in the early mornings when it's still cool out. Looking forward to Fall and hopefully getting a new ride soon ! I did notice that you moved the throttle to the right side as well! I hope I can adapt a Twist- type throttle that makes it more like a M/C!

@@BikeRidez thanks for doing that!….I’m subscribed to their website! Man I can’t wait!

I ended up moving the throttle to left side on both bikes. It was getting in the way of the shifter levers and the extra space from the shifters cause you hand to have to stretch to far to use throttle.

@@BikeRidez I did get an Apollo and moved the Throttle to the Right hand side..,.I tried up loading a photo of my installation but I don't think the site allows photos....It works great! Hope you enjoy your bikes! The twist Throttle can be ordered straight from Luna Cycle...in different colors too!

I see you purchased a 2nd one..nice. And it also has the quiet plastic gear in the Bafang motor (thanks as I was aking you that question I looked at the 'show more' button and whala - you added it, thanks. Sounds pretty quiet on the video, do you recommend that option - since you had an issue before? And now that you have both ebikes, one with Ludicrous, and one without, do you recommend the ludicrous option as well?

There is a bit of difference between 1000 watt peek and the Ludicrous with 2000 watts peek. I'm more of an intense rider than my wife. The Ludicrous mode eats up the battery a lot more too. We returned from a 25 mile ride this past weekend and I was in red bar (2% left) and my wife had over 50% battery left. Ludicrous is also very touchy and tricky when doing technical rides. It is very easy to lift the front wheel off the ground. If you get in a spot where you need to push very hard on the pedal to climb, you have remember to drop your PAS down to 1 or 2 or you can get thrown from the bike easily too. I would say if you are beginner to early novice level rider with no intentions of doing big mountain climbing you are better off without Ludicrous upgrade.

@@BikeRidez Thanks!. I am an X-Desert open class racer so power for me is no problem, but I will not be pushing hill climbs (getting older and have to value my body) - but I do love to haul butt. My wife is a novice. But she does not want a hardtail as she has back issues and is looking for a full suspension E-bike, she is 5'7" so the Enduro model your wife received looks like a winner. Looks to be a medium size frame I presume? Thanks for the video's by the way, nice job!!

Does your motor gets hot?

Absolutely! Especially on 100+ days in the Nevada desert! I have not experienced any over heating issues which worried me before I got the bike...

Could have spent more time on a more detailed video of the completed bike and installed components.

There were several other deboxing videos so I decided to skip that. Sorry I will try to do better next time.
