First Road Test On Wife's Street Legal 2 Stroke Dirt Bike!!

Taking the KX100 dual sport project on its first street ride. Objectives of this test are to determine if Jennifer feels comfortable on the machine and get an impression of the general behavior of a KX100 on the road.

Hey happy to see you riding again! If the bike is a little bit too peppy for her, take the flywheel cover off and you can inspect the timing plate. Pop out the screws and you can reduce the timing by shifting the plate. There are 3 tick marks. One for beginner, intermediate and advanced power curves. The right most tick will flatten out the power curve a little bit. Doing this will also benefit the bike for road use since it gives it a little more bottom end and gives the bike more continued torque on those peek rpms at the expense of a few horsepower. Great way to work up the power if she needs more! Please stay safe and have fun. Love you guys!

@@ClumsyCars That was one of the things I never knew for years. When I changed it for the first time, it really gave it that really nasty powerband like in the Yamaha's. It went from a pretty fast and fun bike to an adrenaline rush at the time. However, like i said, you loose the tippy top over rev power when you have it pinned on the road. Wayyy better for the dirt that way. You can do this on any bike really. Just be careful. Do very small increments, no more than a few degree max. Any higher, then you'll need to adjust the PV as well to get the original powerband but the more or less the same bottom end torque. It Truly is free power.

A heavier flywheel will tone down the powerband and make it even easier to ride, and harder to stall!

Yes!! I've been waiting for this and it did not disappoint. It's really great to see you guys go on a nice relaxing ride through town. That area is really beautiful and your camerawork showcases it well. I'd really like to see you guys go on some kind of light adventure when Cameragirl has a little more riding experience. Like mapping out a ride where you go down some cool trailes (or a combination of roads and trails) to reach a nice destination. Maybe somewhere you can have a picnic, or an ice cream shop, or somewhere else to stop and get some food and relax. Then the return trip home. Maybe have the ride home at sunset so you can test out the headlights a little, as it starts getting dark. Happy (belated) Anniversary by the way!!!
