Those flat head twins are BEASTS!! I got a vertical, that sat for over 20 years. I squirted a little oil into each cylinder, let it set overnight and it fired right up the next day!! It came off of an old Montgomery Ward lawn tractor that fell apart, but, I kept the engine cause it was good. I finally, after I retired, got around to messing with it! Good video!!

What happened to the FrankenBriggs? What tractor does it go in? Could you show the machine and transmission setup? What is the PTO pulley used for? I picked up one of these engines, and not sure what it came out of.
@davessmallenginerevival28473 жыл бұрын
It came out of a 80s craftsman garden tractor. The pulley ran a belt for the drive. These engines were in a lot of different machines

How does that carb work and don't leak with fuel pump off?
@davessmallenginerevival28474 жыл бұрын
Some came this way from the factory believe it or not. It takes a remote fuel pump and the fuel inlet is in a different spot. The casting is still in the front of the carb but the passages were never drilled. Good question👍

I am jealous. A foot of snow on the ground here. Is there a new work coat in your future? Although the one you have is great. I had the best coat in the world. My manager questioned the condition of it and i said "In baseball A first base ball player doesn't change his ball glove half way through the game". That was a fun video. Are you going to convert to the original fuel pump (carb)
@davessmallenginerevival28474 жыл бұрын
Hi Bruce. Yes it's going to be a little cold the next couple days but then 50s and 60s next week. My wife absolutely hates when I wear this coat. I don't know why I can't get rid of it. I always say this is the last time I'm wearing it but then that turns out to be a lie. Actually some of these carbs like this one are made to have a remote fuel pump. The passages are blocked. I could put a regular style carb on but I'll probably stick with this one , it seems to work good enough. To bad you still have all that snow , that's how last year was for us. We had snow clear into may. Stay healthy and safe my brother

@davessmallenginerevival28472 жыл бұрын
@@jamestrott1183 ok. Got this one. So not sure what you're working on but make sure you have the engage wire connected, it should be white or yellow. Connected to the small post on the solenoid and if their is another small post that needs to be grounded. If you don't have a test light get one , it helps to see if things are getting power. If it's hooked up right and their is power but it still doesn't work you need a new solenoid. Plus make sure the clutch/ brake pedal is pushed down. Good luck
