I currently drive a 1999 Black SC 2 and it is a great car, you see these all over the roads in 2020...proof they were awesome!

Saturn was a great division of GM; IN FACT, THEY WOKE UP GM AND TOLD THE OTHER DIVISIONS LIKE CHEVROLET THAT IF THEY WANTED TO SELL CARS, CLEAN UP YOUR ACT. SATURN WAS TO COMPETE WITH THE IMPORTS, AND EVEN THOUGH THE FIRST SATURNS LOOKED LIKE OLDSMOBILES, THEY WERE A GREAT CAR AND WERE RELIABLE! A FRIEND OF MINE HAS A 96 SL1, AND HE'S STILL DRIVING IT; IT'S BEEN A RELIABLE CAR FOR HIM, UNLIKE ANOTHER FRIEND OF MINE WHO'S ON HIS 3RD CAVALIER. GO FIGURE!

This almost sounds like spam. I had the same car, and it was fantastic. It was cute, safe, reliable, got great milage, but more than anything else, I looked forward to getting up for work so I could drive my Saturn.

I have a 97, with 150,000 miles on it, still runs good, has never had a repair other than fan belt change. Car makers don't want cars to last more that 5 years. no wonder they pulled Saturn.

My Saturn SL 1 2000 clocked more than 300,000 km and it is still going strong (it does not consume oil...cylinders compression is top notch...transmission is as new). I maintained this car myself, lubrification by Castrol GTX, and i will keep it as long as possible. I own a second Saturn (Ion coupe Quad 2007) ... same result. However, Electric Power steering went off last month. No problemo...i removed it, disassembled it (very easy...) i cleaned parts carefully with WD 40, reassembled it...and it works as new. If GM could bring back Saturn brand...and Saturn original quality, as an electric vehicule, it could make a hit.

The funny thing is that this guy now sells Hondas, Nissans, and Mercury. So much for Saturn!

Saturn was the last hope that the U.S. auto industry could build a high quality car that compete with the Hondas and Toyotas of the world. I bought the last of the good independently built ones which was a 96 SL2 which I finally traded it in for a Corolla. The problem was that the UAW and GM sabotaged Saturn to the point where it was just another GM division. Most of the last Saturns were just rebadged Opels.. After Saturn of Gaithersburg closed and I had to go next door to the Buick dealer for service they treated me like dirt. I don't think Roger Penske's vision for Saturn would have worked, which was getting various import auto makers to build cars that would have been rebadged as Saturns aka a Best Buy of cars. The only way you can build a decent car in the US is to have an automaker like Hyundai, Toyota or Honda open a plant here and hire non union employees and train them in the right way of automaking.

You had me until hiring non-union employees. Unions are the working backbone of this country.

The Corolla and S-Series are in the same league IMO, but the Corolla is a bit bland.

Yeah, nothing like helping the American economy out by buying some slope car. Here's hoping you don't ever have the money to go through with that threat, ya toad.
