@@MattBudYT Honestly not that surprised myself, gamefreak loves screwing over bug types, like with the fairy resistance to it for example, a buff/nerf that neither type needed xd

Aye Matt. Can you do a video about why coverage isnt everything, or Pokémon with extreme coverage that doesn't use it. Amazing example is tauros. Dude gets blizzard thunder fire blast and all this other stuff but has like 40 special attack
@andreaseverin13463 ай бұрын
The greatest example might be Electivire - no good STAB, no setup and nothing else to do than 4 attacks do it in

I've used so many of these in LC Runs. Even in challenge hacks, they can go wild, especially when you need one *very specific thing*. Voltorb getting Galvanize in Radical Red actually made it a great nuke against certain troublesome Water or Flying types, as well as a solid pivot. The Geodudes did the same with either Explosion or Earthquake. One early Rival battle in RR has a choiced Simi depending on starter; with some switching shenanigans, Trapinch trivialized it by switching in on HP Electric. Its high Attack helped against other mons too. Tentacool is available early on in Radical Red, and having Liquid Ooze and solid bulk makes it very useful against certain major threats. Shieldon and Aron were mainstays in my Radical Red run simply because Sturdy/Metal Burst gets rid of problems well enough to make Jirachi jealous. If an attacker was too ridiculous to get rid of, and it didn't have Multi-Hit nonsense, a Sturdy Aron, Shieldon, Bonsly, Pineco or Bergmite could usually handle it. (On that note, Aron also gets Endeavor, which can lead to FEAR shenanigans. If you could turn off XP gain, you could solo some battles with an Aron and a Hippopotas.) Any "glass cannon" can help out a lot when you need to punch above your weight. I've used both Abra and Gastly before (with Gastly even completely walling Alice's Gliscor in the old version of Unbound, before they replaced Roost with Rock Tomb and it just had Toxic and EQ). Even Cranidos got to go wild against Radical Red Sabrina thanks to her permanent Trick Room and an Iron Ball, Glastrier did *not* see that Head Smash coming. Honedge is great for LC runs in general as well because Swords Dance + Shadow Sneak is fantastic. I ran one in my Gaia LC run, and it and Munchlax were both crucial in getting through that godforsaken Archer+Ariana tag battle in Radical Red. (Honedge needed a crit Shadow Claw to cut through Galarian Articuno before it could sweep with its Competitive boost. Thanks a lot, Brendan.)

Cetoddle is especially unfortunate with it being nerfed in LC twice, not by tiering changes itself, but mistakes Gen 9 Showdown originally had before being fixed. The first was Berry Juice being assumed as obtainable in Gen 9, which helped with Cetoddle's Belly Drums. The second was not actually having Slush Rush as a secondary ability like Cetitan and instead the much worse Snow Cloak. I wouldn't say Cetoddle would have been able to keep up in the end with Mienfoo coming back and all, alongside the new Growlithe-Hisui, but I remember early on playing Gen 9 LC where those oversights alongside the Snow buff made it a decent sweeper lol.
@MattBudYT3 ай бұрын
It could have at least done something. Those would be huge buffs. Priority ice chard and ice types defense buff in hail with slush rush would be usable. Slap screen support with impidimp and you could even sub up.
@iantaakalla81803 ай бұрын
I love that in order for something like Cetoddle to even be viable it literally needed two cheats.

These videos are interesting and well written, but your delivery feels quite bland, you can ignore this if you want as I might be the only one but that’s just my two cents. I feel like you could be far bigger given the quality if you had more engaging delivery. Good video nontheless
