KD led the Thunder to the NBA Finals and was last season's leading scorer. Dwight Howard was the best center, defender, and rebounder in basketball. And he was expected to make a full recovery from his injuries from the year before (which he didn't). CP3 was the best PG in the NBA and people expected the Clippers to domimate the West the following season. D-Rose is the only one that bothers me. He only played in half the games the year before and he didn't play at all in the following season

You could argue Kobe but its not given bc this was made in 2012 going into 2013, when Rose led his team to top of the league record 2 straight years and the ECF in 2011 while Kobe was then 2 years removed from his most recent championship and had been 1-8 in the second round since then too
