When I leak test a head for valve or gasket leakage I usually use kerosene because it is thinner and I'm not pouring water into an iron head.

Question. I know this question has nothing to do with this video but I am looking for some Guidance. I have a 1990 7.3 and all of the sudden one morning it would not even turn over and once it finally did it had a really bad knocking noise. The mechanic told me he did compression on it and said it was probably a wrist pin or rod bearing and said the motor needed to be rebuilt, it only had 170k and was running fine prior to this episode. Just feel like it is low mileage. Any guidance would be great.

Check your flywheel bolts I had a 5.9 Cummins do that to me it sounded like it had a bad like A-Rod knock like you wouldn't believe and I just spent seven Grand the truck so you figure that I'm getting down looking around and I said Mana sounds like it's coming from the oil pan that's got to be a rod knock next thing I know check that
