@@RaisingVoyagers I love this ice-cream, nothing like that in the World, YUM, Called GUM ICE-CREAM "Maras Ice-cream" you can actually chew, and cut it with a knife, it is so good, goat milk and orchid flower called SALEP. it is hard to make at home, actually you can NOT.

Hey guys! For your information, the taxi meters in Turkey don't run by time spent but by road travelled. So, the driver who got some snacks wasted some of your time but didn't charge you extra. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

U should visit to Topkapı Palace and Istanbul Arqeology Museums . They re very close to Hagia Sopia and Blue mosque (The hipodrom area ). Also if u watch the modern side of city you should go to kadikoy to asia side of istanbul . You can see the neighborhood culture also there . Finally really pretty video ❤️

11:00 Taxi drivers work in Istanbul in harsh conditions and getting stuck in traffic for long times. They have to deal with all this stress and cant have time for proper meals. Its better to keep the taximeter always on while driving with taxi because some bad taxi drivers offer "special prices" for tourist and actually charge them more than it should be. I hope you enjoyed being in Turkey.

Due to devaluations in Turkey, median monthly net wages of Turkey has been reduced to year 1915 levels of net 340 usd per month in year 2021. Reason for that is heavy public constructions of Marmaray train tubes crossings, 3rd bridge of Bosphorus, Yalova Izmir motorway, Ankara Nigde city motorway, eastern anatolian water dams, couple of thousands of mosques, newly built Istanbul Intl Airport, 50 newly built elegant and grandeur city state hospitals, fast train connections built.

Just a small note: waiting charge in taxis in turkey is almost zero... negligible, for sure. Just make sure you don't get the runaround... a typical scam for tourists

As American expats or pensioners , always prefer to settle in Antalya, Alanya, Gazipasa, Mersin, Adana seasides, Iskenderun, Kusadasi, Didyma, Bodrum, Fethiye towns and never live in Istanbul. Renting car is affordable for 25 usd per day including full coverage insurance and unlimited mileage.

Most turks don't know english because one needs to either attend private english language courses 2000 usd per year courses for 3 years at least and move to London english courses to expedite his/her english and another payment of 7000 usds while in England to be advanced speaker of english. Another alternative is to attend english speaking private middle, high schools and then to english instructions given university educations where 13 turkish universities only give courses in english and pay 10.000 usd yearly to private turkish british or american schools and pay 7000 usd to american original books during education lifetimes.

Turkish citizens main problem is not to generate enough wages and perks in this world. As mostly ex villager turks had immigrated to Germany, France, Britain from very old irrigation machineries to most advanced very easy european economies, turks had changed their mentality to send their children to german, french, british, dutch , danish universities to be successful alumnis. Each year 300.000 turks earn western schengen countries' university or above degrees with bursaries.
