First Time 12 Year Old Super Late Model Race

What happens when a 12 year old races a dirt late model with over 800hp? Racing against some of best racers in the mid south and breaking in our 12 year old driver after much testing and driver development we were making moves and turning heads. Driving like a vet, the spin? I was thinking the 21 was going high too.. a lot of kids 12 are playing with transformers. Not wheeling a $50,000 800hp machine around at 90 mph..... good going....

you definitely have some talent and a good ride, the only thing I can recommend is just get back on the gas a hair faster and I think you notice you move to the front of the pack faster I've been racing since I was 15 I'm 45 now, and if yall ever make it to Florida at Bubba raceway in ocala maybe you can take a win away from me but seriously good job I've watched this video a few times you have potential for a good career in late models even when you spun out you handled it like a pro

Great throttle control. Got much better at the end..I think he could outrun everybody down the straightaway….I only raced a late model for 2 years when I was 17. I wish we would have had iracing then. Much cheaper way to learn to drive than learning on the track

I’m also twelve and I want to be nascar driver but Need to start slow like go karts then move up to sport compact then when I graduate move up to sport mod then move up to modified then super late models then find a ride maybe in late model pro cup cars or arca then find a ride in the k&n pro sires the keep on moving up till I reach the monster energy cup sires but this kid is already in a late model and I’m jelly

S S The sound you hear is a combination of the straight cut gears coming from the quick change rear end and gear driven engine timing. Which in most engine is a timing chain.

He finished and only spun once. I would call that more dollars than sense on the parents part. Most people in this area follow the progression up to late model since they cant afford to start off in a 35-70k racecar.

70k for a brand new super is in no way a stretch...granted you can build one cheaper but you can easily sink that much into one.

I agree. They should have brought him up slower. As a former super modified driver from way back, you can have all the money, but one thing the kid needs to learn in his own is patience. Only way to do that in racing is to start him off with a slower car, and let him turn many laps. Kids today want to see just how fast they can go, and oh yea, let's get it on KZbin or Facebook. With patience comes wisdom and experience. Once other drivers see and learn that you have "paid your dues" only then will they respect you.

It's easy to have 70K in a super late. I would bet the cheapest you going to win with one is around 40 to 50k. That kid is one hell of a driver. The way he stayed back when the 5 car kept coming up on him and pinching him off and the way he knew he could come on up with the 1 car. Smart kid to be able to process all of this as fast as it comes on his first super late race. IDK what he raced before but he has alo't of time behind the wheel.
