I stopped cubing for 3 months shortly after I broke the sub-12 barrier. I started practicing again about a week ago and I'm averaging almost under 11 now. Sometimes a break can be beneficial

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan and not criticizing the video or you, Kian. This is probably one of the most discouraging videos I’ve seen in a while. I practice all the time and don’t even see sub 15 (with both hands) as a pb in the near future. My biggest obstacle at this point is laying out the entire first block in my mind in the inspection. (Per your video on getting faster). I’ve been averaging 23-25 seconds for months now. Ugh. Your skills are amazing. #realfans

Even I had a break of about 2-3 weeks. My sub 20 average had gone more than 25. So one thing I learnt from this is that lack of practice is really bad. We should never give practice a long break.

I stopped cubing for about 4-5 months. I usually could solve a 3x3 in about 40 seconds (I was new to cubing) and I started cubing again about 4 days ago. I average about 50-1:00 now and I forgot a ton of algorithms. I’m learning all the algorithms I forgot and my times are dropping quick

Learn full CMLL as soon as you possibly can, learn some of the easier sets first like H and Pi as they have easier recognition

Sidharth Patel go as slow as you need. When you can execute an alg without looking at it 5 times in a row and at a relatively quick speed learn another. I found it particularly useful to write out the algs and draw the cases so I would really have to know recognition.

I don't know if you will answer that but I ask it, I use 2 look cmll with the "classic" adjacent and diagonal permutation algs but is there some faster ones ? I've seen some that were like 10 moves for the adjacent permutation why these aren't "taught" in 2 look tutorial videos ?

The shorter permutation algs are much harder to execute quickly, and also harder to memorize for beginners. I still use the standard/classic permutation algs (J-perm and Y-perm) since I can perform them the fastest.

I want to use roux method in wca competition, but the problem is that I usually can't plan my first block plus dr edge in 15s(unless it is a very easy scramble).In 15s usually I can just plan my first block 2x2x1 square. Can anyone give me some advice?

The problem is tracking the remaining edge and corner after building a 2x2x1 square takes a lot of time, like 30s to 40s. That is why i usually can't plan my first block plus dr edge in 15s. I usually takes about 75s to 120s to plan my first block plus dr edge, which makes me impossible to use roux method in wca competition.
