Funny enough, this is for me, as a car nut dentist, one of the most interesting videos I’ve seen on KZbin. This gives me valuable insight into how you patients cope with the hardships of advanced mouth surgery. I guess your surgeon is keenly watching these vlogs of yours. Is he also into cars and tracking them?

Great to see your progress Misha! I had braces for 3 years and had 4 wisdom teeth taken out in a surgery 2 years into it. The struggle with having work done around your mouth is real tough, but it's so worth it in the end!
@EndstyleGG2 жыл бұрын
I can definitely relate with the S sound being difficult after a major dental procedure, I used to have a massive overbite so my upper teeth completely covered the lower and during the first few brace tightenings I noticed how often I misspoke in the sense that the S became more like a Shhh or Š. You literally have to calibrate your tounge to the new teeth position which is a very wierd feeling at the beginning. I also got those blue things to the back teeth to be able to chew anything and it was the weirdest feeling not being able to "close" my mouth fully anymore. I really had to calm myself multiple times from the anxiety and panic of the thought of "I will never be able to "close" my mouth to the same extent", but I managed to get over that in a couple months and haven't even thought about it until now. I am also very greatful I didn't have to go through what you did, because there is no way I could handle it as good as you, especially the mouth wired shut for a month
@DukeBoy822 жыл бұрын
So great to see your awesome progress, you're looking great. A very good friend had the same surgery years ago and I'm very familiar with the recovery. It will take some time to relearn how to eat again. Keep up the great content!

Interesting. My wife has had her uppers and lowers replaced and the one thing she still has trouble with is feeling.Both you and she complain that there is a lack of feeling that proves to be a little disconcerting as to how much pressure you’re applying when chewing. The best advice that I can give is be extremely careful not to eat quickly, you could very well accidentally bite the inside of your cheek and tongue. Your progress looks good!

I had to get my top palette segmented to widen it. The surgeon somehow broke off 3 of the top left braces from my teeth 🙄 my orthodontist really isnt impressed with my surgeons work. Its not a good feeling when the orthodontist keeps finding things wrong with what the surgeon did. Cheers mate!

Although this is great news. Everyone should spare a thought for blender. Blender will be disgraded like trash. Blender deserves better. 10:17 So i had srugery to install a stainless steel bar onto my right femur summer 2019 (mountain biking is awesome AND really dangerous). There are spots on the outside of my leg where i will never get full feeling back. I expect something similar with you. It helps if you stimulate the nerves a lot. So as long as your Doc is cool with it, rubbing your face regularly may help, especially with lip sensitivity.

Wow good for you! Back about 100 yeas ago when I was in the US Army I had soldier in my unit who had the same thing you did -- over extended lower jaw He decided to get the double surgery while he was in the military because they would pay for it. I was his CO so I had to sign off on his request. He went through the same thing you did and it was pretty tough at first but he did it. But this was back in 1972 so I imagine the techniques are better now? Anyway, his overall facial appearance changed less than yours with the surgery and he was not sure in the end that it was worth the effort? You look a lot different now but I think it really makes you more handsome! Ha ha. But that is a hell of a big choice to make man -- probably takes more bravery then a hot lap on the ring?
