Hi. I have seen a few pairings of jumping spiders. When they mate, the. Male get on top of the female facing her back end. Then, he turns over her abdomen to face him. It looks like he is rolling her over but only her abdomen flips. They can go for many seconds. It isn't instant. I have seen them go more than once in an encounter. So, I don't think your spiders actually mated since the male never got into position on top of the female. There are good videos of this on KZbin. I suggest you check them out. That said, I love your videos! I have followed you for a few years now. I used to be severely arachnophobic. Your videos helped me heal from that. I love your accent, too! Congratulations on your new family life. Be well.

I wrote the same thing. I'm surprised he didn't look one up while he said he was watching videos for 30 mins when the male was in the substrate. The pairings I've seen the Male meets her perpendicularly, like a capital letter T when he lifts up her abdomen.

I don't think they did the deed, jumping spiders mate differently to other spiders, the male should mount the female, his head on her abdomen and he would turn her abdomen to the side and penetrate from there, usually going in from both sides with stamina 😂. They were still doing the mating dance and never got to the actual deed itself. 😢

Just a thought on the Balfouri slings.... Add a Small amount of web from their original enclosure.... It should help "promote" them to web up a little bit...... But it might be better to get their Larger enclosure ready now, so you can get a Proper Web Castle when they do start webbing

Hello Petko. I am a huge fan of your videos!! I have been breeding regals for years, and unfortunately, yours did not pair. Usually, when the male does his dance; and if the female is ready, she won't move at all and let him do his thing. It's almost like a trance that she's in. And it's definitely not just a second. It'll take a few minutes . And I would usually just have them both out of their houses in an open space. Then they see each other right away, do the dance trance, and get er' done. Then I put them back. And you could tell that she didn't want to pair yet because she was trying to get away from him. So you'll just have to try another time. I don't have any jumpers myself right now because my last male lived over a year and a half and then passed away. Unfortunately, because my husband has stage 4 colon cancer and is on hospice, I haven't had much time to see about getting a couple of new babies. But right now, I do have 3 tarantulas. I have a curly hair ( which I have a couple of videos on my channel), a pink toe, and a Hati Hati sling. But if you ever have any questions, feel free to get in touch. I'm also an artist and have made some designs you might like. Just let me know. Take care!!

The common name is the Brazilian jewel. They're dwarf trap door tarantulas and are the most girly gorgeous spider I've ever seen, for sure. Dave's beasties have a good video catching slings from their mama's trapdoor nest. They're like the peacock of the spider world. Except for Australia's peacock jumping spiders, of course. They're beautiful to when they're dancing, at least.

Listening to PETKO say the genius and species over the years I've just naturally picked up the accent when saying the names of tarantulas. @@calliew311 hey, merely a suggestion..Niger the country is pronounced that way, and, in English at least, one consonant like that, is typically pronounced thst way, also (were as digger, would be pronounced the other!) @@calliew311 It can be pronounce with a hard G, or a soft g, it just that in Petko's country it's pronounced with a hard G, pushing it the sound similar to the slur, not quite but KZbin doesn't like it. Sometimes you have to adapt, so why not just adopt the typical British, American, French etc pronunciation.

@@zebedeemadness2672 can Latin be pronounced differently and still be correct? Because other languages that doesn't work. For example, the words Nevada, Los Angeles, etc are all Spanish words. We pronounce them the way we want, but technically that's not correct. So, just because you can doesn't make it right, I'm not saying that about your comment because idk that much about Latin. Maybe in Latin the vowels can have different sounds. But Spanish, a close relative of Latin, doesn't have those differences.
