Love that people are mentioning seventeen and stray kids as self producing groups but GOT7 also produce their music! From 2016 onwards they have written the majority of their bsides and from 2017 onwards the majority of their title tracks as well! All members produce and write songs and they all have self-produce solo careers! They tend to lean more towards RnB in their bsides as well and in their solo careers it's a mix! Eclipse was a song for the fans. The album was called SPINNING TOP: BETWEEN SECURITY AND INSECURITY. And it's about their fears of people leaving them and not being able to live up to people's expectations. For some context, JYPE (their (now former) label also SKZ's current label) really mismanaged them and they barely promoted them near the end of their contract (the difference was huge between GOT7 and SKZ in that regard which is no fault of theirs, they were under different divisions in the company and not to say that JYPE is perfect with SKZ as well). So this was about all these insecurities! After the end of their contract in jan 2021 they decided not the re-sign with them and JAY B (the leader) took care of the legal procedures to get their trademark transferred directly to the members (which is unprecedented in kpop, either a group has to change name or they have to establish a company where the rights would be transferred to that entity) so basically they can go to any company and for their 2021 February single and 2022 comeback they chose to distribute it under Warner Music Korea. GOT7 used to be marketed as a "hip hop" group in their early days and they would do a lot of martial arts tricking, they then transitioned into something more soft and rnb-pop! They were also one of the first groups (if not the first) where nearly half of the members are non-koreans (in this case 4 koreans: JAY B Jinyoung Youngjae Yugyeom and 3 foreigners: Jackson: Hong Kong, BamBam: Thai and Mark: Taiwanese-American). They were (and still are) much more successful globally than in Korea (which is also one of their insecurities that lead to Eclipse!) most probably because of that fact. As a fan of these three groups I really hope you can react to some more! They all have such a diverse discography and really really good performances! Thanks for the reaction!

I think because it’s not a part of their marketing, people don’t know. Or maybe because they didn’t start out totally self producing? Not sure, but I’m glad someone mentioned it. Jay B our reliable leader ❤

@@helenkrzywon6778 that's probably it! just goes to show how bad JYPE's promotion was of GOT7, it's also probably bc they wanted to push that "concept" for stray kids, to make a difference between groups!

Stray kids are a self produced group who pioneered a subgenre of kpop called mala taste (named after malatang a spicy soup). God’s menu is about their process of creating music, and providing unique flavors in their creations. Which is reflected in their lyrics, choreo, and visuals. The follow up song to it is Back Door. I also recommend Maniac, Thunderous, Hellevator and District 9. Hellevator was a predebut song they released and District 9 was their debut. Their titles are great but they give multiple music videos or performances per album (and they’ve release twelve albums since 2018, not including the predebut mixtape or Japanese albums) and their b-sides show off even more of their range, and even their non-video music is amazing. They are going to have a comeback on the second of June for an album 5-stars, with the title track S-class. Their last release was the Sound in February which was a Japanese album - I highly recommend the sound, but keep in mind Japanese releases don’t get subtitled for whatever reason.

That's not Jisoo's Flower reference, the song were related to the Dragon Ballz animation. The move he did there is a reference of the famous move of the character, Son Goku. The Kamekameha. But yeah many people misunderstood it as Jisoo's reference too.
@AMetalheadsPerspective Жыл бұрын
That doesn't remind of Kamehameha at all because he stays stationary and just twisted his hands more indicative of flower. Where as Goku always pulled back his hands and powered it up and pushed it forward with that twist. I don't ever remember being a twist like that.
@thzaaai Жыл бұрын
@@AMetalheadsPerspective It's a choreography, ofcourse they innovated it to make it suitable for the dance. Believe me, the whole songs has Dragon Ball reference in it. I could list it for you. 3:12 This. Goku's move whenever he did the transmission. 4:33 The lyrics. "Pull up my flying cloud." The cloud that Goku ride. 4:40 The lyrics. "Rise up to the sky, power pole." Son Goku's power pole. 8:03 "ENER-ENERGY....." In Korea, they used this in replacement for Kamekameha. 8:15 The lyrics. "This is the Cartoon's credit song." So obvious. And the members themselves told us it was base on that.

3:34 You're right that's same with Jisoo "Flower" BUT in this mv that move means something different. Son Goku (it's SonoGong in Korean) is Dragon Ball Z's main character. Honestly its hard to pick favorites because they have so much great music out. Stray Kids has 8 members and not only are they incredibly talented performers, but writers and producers! The producing subunit of Stray Kids is called 3racha and is made up of the members Bang Chan, Han, and Changbin. They write and produce pretty much every SKZ song, although other members do contribute sometimes. They're always keeping it fresh and trying new things, and I think that's a big part of why they have gained so much popularity.

Back door is the sequel to god's menu, so it would make sense to go for it next, tho my favorites from stray kids are "my pace" which is something you might like and "young wings", a more laid back song with some nice lyrics, but since you're a metalhead I doubt it'd be your cup of tea :D. There's a lot more nice songs but sadly they don't have MVs and since you're a new listener I think you'd prefer to watch one. Edit: actually young wings doesn't have an MV it's just a performance video :P

... I'm guessing you don't like much of their music, huh? Lol NO HATE! TRULY! Never do such a thing. Sad we have to say that stuff now. Anyway, I was just caught by the two picks you made and you comment about how they have other nice songs but they don't have MVs. My first thought was, "Wait! They have like 70 videos made for their music content!... Awe. They like soft stuff and still came to find something they appreciated and are talking them up too!" So, if anything, I juat wanted to say thank you for being their fan in whatever compasity that you are. Because it's obvious you care about them alot to be doing this even though they only have a few songs you particularly like, and most of thoae don't even have MVs. Lol I belive that just makes you that much more of a unique fan whom I'm sure SKZ is lucky to have the supportive words of.

Thanks for reacting to SKZ ! They're one of my ults and their discography is amazing. They even made a new genre called mala taste genre which incorporates a lot of different elements and switch ups and create a song mixing really strong and powerful or even agressive parts with sweet and calm vocal parts just like they did in God's Menu. They're a self produced group and write their lyrics as well. Even though they have main rappers, main singers and main dancers they can all rap, sing and dance. The guy with the really deep voice is Felix and because of his voice tone he's usually the first one to be noticed when people listen to Stray Kids for the first time, but he can catch some high notes as well. I recommend Thunderous, Back Door (which is the sequel for God's Menu, that's why they were heading towards a Back Door at the end), Maniac, Venom, Double Knot, Red Lights and The Sound. The last one is the title track from their last Japanese album. Also you should react to Guerilla and Halazia from Ateez. I think you'll like their style and they're amazing performers too.

Thanks for reacting to Stray Kids! :) As many people mentioned already, both Seventeen and Stray Kids are self produced groups, both very talented! Gods menu is an introduction to Stray Kids as a group, and to their sound. That is especially highlighted in the lyrics, where they associate the creative process of making music to chefs cooking and experimenting (with sound in this case :) ) and also bring light to the fact their ''menu'' has something for everyone. Their "experimental" nature is also highlighted in the song itself, that has a lot of switches between the hard hitting "loud" instrumental/ rap segments, and only cools off for the pre chorus and Felix's verses (the one with the deep voice). Because Stray Kids are so involved in the music they make they include many genres in their discography (hip hop, edm, pop, rock, ballads, jazz etc), often having very meaningful lyrics to top it all off. Some recomandations would be their most famous title tracks like Back door, Thunderous, Maniac and Miroh. I'd also like to add Venom and Cheese, they are bsides with music videos :) If you like rock I'd like to recommend my fav songs from them that have a semblance of the genre, such as: - District 9 - their debut title track, I personally love it so much -Slump - a japanese song with an mv, the ending song for the anime Tower of God -Chronosaurus - a bside with an MV - The sound - japanese title track from their most recent album - Awaken - a bside with no MV
glad to see some boy groups! as a fellow fan of rock/metal, you neeeed to react to guerilla by ateez! they even incorporate a moment of screamo 👀
