"Girl's Got Rhythm"..One of my favs of the Bon Scott era. Fun fact: Atlantic Record's board members were' upset CEO/Artist Manager Ahmet Etregen advanced the band so much $$ for the "Back In Black" LP, But he told 'em, quit whining, we're gonna make millions! 6 months later they apologized after the LP hit #1, and never gave him flack about artist deals again. It was Ahmet's talent..He just KNEW a hit when he heard one. (Tupac, NWA, Aretha Franklin, Foreigner, Bee Gees, Yes, Led Zepplin, KId Rock, etc are just a few of the acts he bagged for the label)

Two more totally unique and Epic Rock Singers are Ronnie James Dio (Solo or with Black Sabbath) and Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden. Both are Masters at Theatrical Sytle Hard to Heavy Rock. A great starting point for Dio is either his Solo Rainbow in the Dark or Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath. For Bruce Dickinson Run for the Hills or The Trooper or for a long listen Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Bon Scotts "It's a long way to the top (if you wanna rock and roll)" is epic, also...bagpipes!! Also, it was Bon Scott who told the rest of the band that if anything happened to him, they should hire Brian Johnson as their new singer (he had heard Brian in his former band Geordie).

Maybe while you are in an AC/DC fever, you might consider doing a comparison of Bon Scott's vocals to those of Brian Johnson. Many people feared for AC/DC survival following the death of Bon Scott. Everything about this band is just distilled, unhinged energy. Bon Scott songs are all the AC/DC albums of the 1970s... I think my favorites of this era are "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" "Whole Lotta Rosie" "TNT" and a comic/parody song "Big Balls" ... I was hoping Nikki Manaj would do a cover version a few years ago ...

Your reaction to Back in Black is my all time favourite song reaction - full stop. I keep coming back to it because it is so genuine, so hilarious, it always makes me happy watching it. Once or twice I've watched it again when I've been depressed and needed something to break me out of my funk. Truth. Thanks, Maggie.

This is why young people should respect their elders. We grew up with this stuff, heard when it was new. And it was all great back then. AC/DC, Boston, Van Halen, Rush, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy/Sabbath, Dio, Yes, Foreigner. Just imagine it. Close your eyes. You’re welcome.

If you really want to hear Bon vs Brian (there’s no wrong choice), “Let there be rock” Live at the Apollo theater in Glasgow 1978 and there’s a ton of Brian’s singing live at Donnington. Also look up Can I sit next to you girl with Dave Evans, that’ll give you an appreciation for Bon’s singing

Bon is not the original singer for AC/DC. It was Dave Evans. He sang Can I Sit Next To You Girl, but he was replaced with Bon before they put out studio albums.

Great reaction, Maggie! I think everybody becomes an instant fan of AC/DC; they're just so good!. You need to listen to Highway To Hell with their original singer, Bon Scott. He has a signature voice that's bluesier than Brian's, and it gives the band a little wilder, snarkier vibe. I so relate to your feelings about them.

I first heard ACDC when I was 17 in 1978. I raced motocross back then and my racing buddy said hey man you gotta listen to these guys. We sat in his 1967 GTO and he plugged in an 8-track tape and we sat inside his car and rocked out. We had to roll down the windows due to all the smoke and did not drive anywhere cause he did not have his drivers license yet. Ya - it was a different time-LOL. Anyway when I heard Bon Scott, their lead singer, had died, I was worried the band was done. I was both surprised and excited when they came back with Brian Johnson with Back in Black. As you have heard it was a FANTASTIC come back song and album. If you are new to ACDC and heavy rock guitar, here a few older groups that you may enjoy: Van Halen, Molly Hatchet, 38 Special, Eric Clapton, Queen, Ted Nugent, and girls back then seem to really like Journey & REO Speedwagon. Another group I like that has a different yet big sound is Styx. Listen to what you can in this list and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did and still do. BTW - the classic Rock n Roll head banging looks good on you !!!
