Back in his heyday, Alice Cooper tours used to have simulated torture, executions, decapitations, etc. which is where he got his shock rock persona from. I don't know if he still has that today. I’ve never seen him in concert, I'm ashamed to say.

I got to pick up AC's props for his casino tour and got to handle all his props and the band's instruments. They gave me a couple of super cool T-shirts. I got his charity coin out of his restaurant. Basically, you buy the coin out of a vending machine and the money is donated to help teenagers restart their lives with positive guidance from charity staff workers. His restaurant serves a one pound hotdog that was too much for me and I cut it in half and gave the rest to a homeless person.

I wanna see the Goo Goo Dolls, singing Over And Over. I used to drive for them and of all the bands I worked for, they were one of the best. Brian Setzer Christmas is a super fun Christmas concert and wonderful people. Shania Twain had fun concerts. The light shows was super cool. Bon Jovi was okay, with a good light show. Beyonce was very busy. Food was good. I could go on and on, but do the Goo Goo Dolls... ....please 🤗

Alice Cooper is one nicest people you'll ever meet, I met him a couple times, once after a Fairway to Heaven charity golf tournament, he's actually a really good golfer and has even written books on golf, after the tournament he stayed almost an hour longer than he was scheduled, just to make sure he met everyone and that anyone who wanted a photo or autograph got one he made you feel like he was as excited to meet you as you were to meet him. The other time I met him was after a show he did on Halloween with Rob Zombie, couldn't have been a better Halloween show, again he went out of his way to make sure everyone had a good time, a photo and autograph, he shared stories and all with a smile on his face he was having as much fun as everyone else, he's a class act.

Alice Cooper is widely respected in the golf world, not just for his skill-he's a scratch golfer with a strong handicap-but also for his character. He's known to be genuinely friendly, respectful, and down-to-earth, making him a favorite among both fans and fellow players. Despite his intense stage persona, he's reported to be a calm, easygoing guy on the course, always happy to chat with others and offer tips. His passion for golf has even helped him stay grounded over the years, and people who meet him on the greens often say he's one of the nicest, most humble people you could meet.

One of the things I love about Alice Cooper is that often he does concept albums that either tell a story or are about a common theme. The first time I heard him was from the album The Last Temptation. It was released in the mid 90's and is underrated, but is a beautifully done story. Older albums like Welcome to my nightmare, Alice Cooper Goes to Hell, Lace and Whiskey, and From the Inside had massive productions for the tour. Welcome to my nightmare had dancers (one was his future wife), a massive cyclops, and other characters in addition to the execution scenes that were standard. From the Inside is about his time in rehab and the people he met there. Other albums like Brutal Planet and Dragontown had some very hard social commentary. They have beautiful ballards, catchy tunes, and often have a reoccurring character of Steven in them. The albums that are often referred to be his blackout albums are Flush the Fashion, Special Forces, Zipper Catches Skin, and Dada. These are early 80s and had a very New Wave feel to them that didn't seem to go over well. Only song I have heard him play live from this era is Clones. Dada is very trippy, but is one of my favorites. Salvador Dali might have done the cover for that one. He has got around 30 albums. He still tours in his 70's. You can find him talking about his recovery from addiction from interviews found on youtube. Sorry for the disorganized nature of this comment.

Hey Diane! Thanks for reacting to this song! This is my favorite Alice Cooper song from my favorite Alice Cooper album, _Trash!_ A lot of die-hard AC fans say that it's a more mainstream, radio-friendly departure from his earlier albums, and I'd have to agree, but I really like it! I started college just about the time that this album came out, so it holds a lot of great memories for me .... but that aside, it's just a kick-ass album! 🤘😎

The story of the name's origin tracks well with the man himself; a rock and roll icon loved by the youth and hated by his older contemporaries who turned out to be just a nice, wholesome dude who golfs on Saturday and goes to church on Sunday. It's such a juxtaposition and yet somehow it works perfectly.

Truly one of the best shock/glam rock singers of all time. Thank you so much. Alice Cooper plays 18 holes of golf a day (at a minimum) to stay sober. One time, he woke up from a binge, and the drummer from The Who was in his house (Keith Moon) making pancakes in nothing but an apron. Alice Cooper decided to sober up after this incident. I've always liked Alice Cooper. This song was a bit of a career resurgence for him in 1989, when he was no longer as shocking as he had been in the early 1970s. For a while early in his career there was a backlash against him for his shocking image and stage show (among his on-stage antics were various horror elements, including faux executions by hanging or guillotine - which got quite a negative reaction from moms and dads at the time. He still does these things in his stage shows today, but what was scandalous in 1973 is merely campy good fun in the 2020s.) As for whether the band or the singer was called Alice Cooper, at the beginning it was both. The band was called Alice Cooper, with him also adopting the name as its front man. Later he went solo, and had his name legally changed so he could still use Alice Cooper without being sued by former members of the band. Oh, and one of the earlier songs - "Be My Lover" from 1971 - included the lyric "She asked my why the singer's name was Alice; I said 'Listen, baby, you really wouldn't understand.'" So they were playing with the novelty of the name from the beginning. (Good song, by the way...) "Poison" was written by Alice, along with John McCurry (his guitar player at the time), and the record's producer Desmond Child. You've run into producer/songwriter Desmond Child a few times before in your music reactions, as he co-wrote "I Was Made For Loving You" for KISS, "I Hate Myself For Loving You" with Joan Jett, and "Crazy" for Aerosmith. The "Who woulda thunk two people could be one people" moment might be one of my favorite things in any of your videos. That was great! As a movie person, you might be interested in one of the things that changed Alice's public image in the late 1970s from being this shocking bad boy of rock into more of the honestly nice guy that he is. At the time, the famous HOLLYWOOD sign in Los Angeles had fallen into disrepair and was an eyesore. Alice spearheaded a drive to raise funds to repair the sign, and personally paid for the third "O" himself in honor of his recently departed friend, film legend Groucho Marx. If you want to dive further into Alice Cooper, I'd suggest "Under My Wheels," "School's Out," "Only Women Bleed," or my personal favorite "Hello, Hooray." For one of his more shocking early songs, I'd suggest "The Ballad of Dwight Fry,' told from the point of view of an inmate in an insane asylum.

In the earlier days, around the time of _Billion Dollar Babies_ and _Muscle of Love,_ the band realized they had a problem. They were putting on a performance for fun, but the crowds they drew were NOT acting. The band was performing a show in a 'round', with the audience seated front, back and sides. At some point during the show the drummer felt sharp pain in his back. Someone had firmly planted a dart in him. The band decided it was time to pause touring for a while.

Albums like; Killer, Billion Dollar Babies, and Welcome to My Nightmare were quite dark and yet so tongue in cheek. His album From the Inside was actually when he was in rehab if I recall correctly. He projected himself as just sock rock, while underneath the band were actually more complex than you might have thought. A band that deserves more respect than they got. Thanks for the review, still it was an 80's album, quiet formular like, like modern music. His earlier more interesting stuff is not all just strong beats and in your face... his words and music were pretty out there, dead babies and so much more, hmmm, need I say more.

A couple years ago Alice stopped for gas and his recently restored Avanti flooded the pump island because someone muffed the fuel tank installation. He has been affiliated with a Dodge dealership in Scottsdale for several years, so he wisely left the car at the station and arranged to get it towed to the dealership and repaired. That's where I came into the picture. I was a flatbed operator for the towing company and I was usually sent for the special jobs. I thought I might actually get to meet Alice, but he was gone and he left the key with the attendant. I pushed the car out to load it and there's a plaque on the dashboard inscribed that the car was specially built for Alice Cooper. My curiosity made me check the registration to see if it said Alice Cooper or Vincent Furnier. It's Alice. Anyway because the fuel leak wasn't in the supply line from tank to engine, the dealership just took the car on the service drive and it was the end of my connection to both, but I sent a picture of the registration to a friend. As far as I can tell, Count's Customs of the TV show worked on the car and somehow it got from Vegas to Phoenix where Alice had the trouble. I think it was just a goof up in the fuel tank installation at Count's, but that was out of my hands once I turned the car over. Now about Alice in a movie. He was in the scariest movie I've ever seen. I'm getting goose bumps thinking about it. The movie is John Carpenter's, Prince of Darkness. It's a true horror movie and I recommend it if you want to be scared silly.

Alice's best known songs in the 70s were im 18, schools out and no more mr nice guy. Poison was from a career resurgence in the late 80s, though he never stopped making music. When it came to making concerts more of a show, he was one of the first big ones. KISS,Rob Zombie,Marilyn Manson, Slipknot and Rammstein all owe him a debt of gratitude because their shows were inspired by Alice. He might be creepy on stage, but in real life hes a pretty humble, down to earth family man who plays a mean round of golf.

There's the surface meaning of the song, but Cooper has said that it was also an allegory for AIDS. Back in the early 80s, when it was a new thing and everyone was afraid of how it was transmitted, safe sex became even more necessary than in the past. So, for this song , the poison is the virus, and Cooper is saying that he wants the woman, but he better not touch unless he's willing to risk getting the disease. Also, yeah, he's a really nice guy. I got to meet him a few times back in the 80s when he toured my city. I've met many a rock star, and only a handful are people you would actually like to know in real life- he's one of them.

I met him in a place called Sudbury up there in Canada while we were doing a show there. And I saw him do the chicken thing. And I also noticed, that there was a chicken, and what he did was he threw the chicken out in the audience and then he ripped open a pillow, right, and he was going ahhh, doing all his stuff. When I saw his show, the guys in his band were wearing summer frocks, like a teenage girl's summer frock, right, and these guys are like, you know, got tattoos and beards and smoking cigars, and going arrr arrr and playing the drum. And I said to him when he came off, I said, I called him Al because I didn't know what else to call him, I said, “Al, what's the deal here? You guys have some act.” He says, “Oh well, you know, we're not really musicians.” He looked at me and he says, “But rock and roll is the fastest way to make big money man.” That's it. I’ve known him for years after that, and every time I saw him, he’s a nice guy. He was in the business, you know. He was not some, what, dilettante or wacko, but he's a really nice guy. He was very practical. Fastest way to make a lot of money.

An area in the north of Spain celebrates the day in a manner that is very similar to the Irish. If I can find the info I had for this I will post it.

Alice Cooper did Schools Out and No More Mr. Nice Guy. You've definitely heard those songs. As for the name, "Alice Cooper" was the name of the band for the first few records but after the rest of the band left he eventually took the band name for himself. He also accidentally got a chicken killed by throwing it into the crowd because he thought it could fly because it was a bird.

Alice Cooper is one of the music stars that created an image that was so powerfully that he lived inside the image, without being actually like the image. I only vaguely recall this song. I mainly put Alice Cooper with the hit Schools Out. A tune I really liked. I know some of his songs, but I have never been enamoured with his music. Chewie had that oh she's got those headphones on again. I really like her, so I'm not going to freakout, but she'll get into it and I can calmly escape, which you did and he did. Editor Diane while she needed no words. Point made.

I don’t think he’s a music lover! But he does love my rendition of twinkle twinkle Little star

Alice Cooper was also in the horror film “Prince of Darkness “ where he played Street Schizo. Jameson Parker of “Simon and Simon” starred in the film.

Hahaha, I love that you chose THIS song because I have this thing I do where I add cuss words to certain songs when it feels like that's what the song truly demands, and for this one I always hear it as: "I wanna taste you, but your lips are venomous poison (backup vocals FUCK-ING POI-OI-SONNN!) You're poison running through my veins You're poison (FUCK-ING POI-OI-SONNN!) I don't wanna break these chains 🎵"

Alice is the son of a preacher man and is a born again Christian. He is also a big into golf and one of his golf buddies was the country star Glen Campbell (RIP). He is known as a very nice person.

Diane did you know that Alice has been married to the same woman for something like 40 or 45 years? There's a interview I've seen of him where he talkes about one of his best friends who passed away. They were golfing buddies and used play golf twice a week. Their families used to do lots of things together, barbeques and such. That friend was Glen Campbell.

There are 2 versions of this music video the one you showed(PG-13) and a second version for the European Market that had the Model wearing the corset featured in a topless version. The 2 most popular songs from the 70's was "Schools Out and I'm Eighteen".

I first saw Alice back in the early 70’s. Best show I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a bunch. This video is nothing compared to his early stuff. Still good though. Hey, it’s Alice.

Alice Cooper was in John Carpente's "Prince of Darkness". He also babysat Keanu Reeves before.

Hell Yeah, Irish Girl!! Vincent Furnier is considered the "Godfather of Shock Rock" He actually change his name legally. I grew up listening to Alice Cooper, him being a local Michigander. Before the internet, quite a few bands had regional, loyal followings. Some other good songs are "Million Dollar Babies", "Under My Wheels", "Elected", "Cold Ethyl". Definitely add some of these to yer Samhain playlist. Always a great live show, you would've enjoyed all the theatrics. He lives in Arizona now, and plays a lot of golf...

Alice has been a fixture forever. Schools Out Live, I'm 18, Feed My Frankenstein, No More Mister Guy, Billion Dollar Babies, Welcome To My Nightmare are some others to try. Poison really had that '80's sound. Could be why you enjoyed it so much. Great segue of 2 people being 1 people. ED didn't look too happy with 1 certain people😜.

When he first hit the scene back in the seventies several people in the UK tried to get him banned. His early stage performances consisted of songs such as dead babies.

If you think the ladies are hardly dressed in this video, i can tell you that in the original video, they were topless. But it was banned from MTV. (When Music Television MTV actually showed music) The could only show it between like midnight to 2am. So he had to re- arrange the clothing on these ladies so it could be shown all the hours of the day.

Interesting side bit... He is a very good and avid golfer, or at least was once upon a time. Also quite intelligent and well spoken. I saw him at a couple profesional golf events, one men's and one women's, where he was paired with a pro for the pro-am (professional/amateur, the amateur always a celebrity) competition.

This is the most commercial, Mtv song he ever did. It's a deep run but worth it. Try "The Ballad of Dwight Frye."

Rob Zombie is a tremendous Alice Cooper fan and has stated about rockers live shows, indirect quote, "you cannot do anything Alice Cooper has not already done so just go put on a show." Alice Cooper as amazing. As for butts: I like butts that look like two basketballs. I do not like butts that look like two planets.
