I am a massive AIC fan and I don't even listen to this song and it's their biggest hit. It's a phenomenal song, don't get me wrong. I'm an avid music listener and I listen to everything and I love their deep cuts and non radio singles so much more. I enjoyed this reaction video. You guys are going to fall in love with so much metal and hard rock as you open your minds and dissect the instrument arrangements and vocals and lyrics you're going to love so many bands. This is going to be an exciting journey. 🤘

I grew up in North Seattle with Layne Staley, a classmate of mine in Lynnwood. If you really want to deep dive - review tracks from DIRT - so many classics - a legendary album with no equal; dark, angry, haunting, beautiful. You're welcome.

AIC "Nutshell" Unplugged... Layne's story is so insane and tragic.
@JesseLJohnson21 күн бұрын
Layne overdosed in 02. Speedball. He was dead quite a while think it was 2 weeks before they found him and pretty sure he had a loaded syringe. The original bass player Mike Starr overdosed on methadone and I think Xanax something like that in I think 2010 or 2011

I'm pleasantly surprised by ol boy on the left being so knowledgeable about AIC & grunge.. AIC was alot more than just grunge.. they get put into that sub genre because they were the first of the wave of Seattle rock bands in the late 80's - early 90's.. They're one of the greatest rock bands of all time..

AIC was the greatest grunge band. Check out their video and song Rooster. It's about the guitarist, Jerry Cantrell's dad who was in the Vietnam war. His nickname was Rooster. ✌❤

Man, get Cam’s hating behind outta here! Why you hating on my man Layne’s vocals for?! Haha! Joke, but seriously, straight banger all throughout. If you want something a little different from them, more subtle, check out “Nutshell”.

If you like Layne Staley vocals for grunge era please check out Chris Cornell from soundgarden (blackhole sun, outshine, hunger) if you haven’t already. Also if you have time please more rage against the machine or Zack de La Rocha solo work (with: krs-1, run the jewels, one day as a lion)

Video edited versions are a horrible way to hear a song for the first time…. Always go with the studio version unless someone says specifically not to. Not being a dick, just some advice. Radio and video edits just ruin songs.

Love Alice In Chains.. but the bridge between Hair metal ( 80’s) and Grunge 90’s is Mother Love Bone.. the lead singer was Andy Wood.. passed in 90 . Kurt passed in 94 and Layne passed in 2002.. anyway the band members from Mother Love Bone are the now band members of Pearl Jam with Eddie Vedder as the lead singer now.. both Andy and Layne passed with a overdose and Kurt was from an alleged suicide

The proverbial box, is the television... And feeding us misinformation... Just as relevant today as it was then... The song almost didn't make the album but the band fought for it, they tried to tell the band that it was too controversial and the sound was too wild.
