This is so different from Elvis' original that it sounds like an Angelina original, to me. It's Musical Perfection, IMO. Kudos to you for helping the children in your local community. I often think what would have happened if Angelina was the little girl in Iran with no shoes or parents to nurture her. She was so lucky to be born into a loving family that allowed her to become what she is today.

OMG Shakes! Holy!!! What a rendition! Gandma Mery produced this. Looks like she used the same store she used for My Funny Valentine! Her sister Juliette was the older girl. The 2 younger girls were maybe her uncle Mike's kids? And, of course, Rob Christie on piano. What a great cover! I was not expecting this! Funny thing is, this was almost 4 minutes, but it flew by and felt short! Going to listen to it again! Man, this gave me chills! 16 years old! Sheesh!!!

Shakes-P, I had tears running down my cheeks before she sang a note, this happens to a lot of us, and people discovering her for the first time. You took the words right out of my mouth at the things you were saying. She is the perfect Artist, her covers, and her original songs are perfectly planned out, down to the last detail. The place this performance was done was at the Melrose Gallery and Antiques in LA California where she likes to go and enjoy the coffee shop upstairs. She also used this shop for filming her cover of "My Funny Valentine" after just turning 16 years old. You are never ready for how she is going to do these covers, she just nails it, and blows your mind every time, and does them so tastefully and respects the original Artist every time. I think Elvis is in Heaven looking down with tears running down his cheeks, and his heart filled with joy, loving the beautiful job Angelina did on his song. Mery never misses a chance to film her grandchildren, once again Angelina slowed the song down and killed it what a talent, she has the unique ability to emote emotions with her voice. She is such a perfectionist, her hair, black leather jacket, and red guitar (not her normal blue one) in a lot of her videos she dresses appropriate for the song, that in itself is the sign of a true artist.

This song always reminds me of an emergency landing in a 747 on fire because it was the song playing on the radio on the way to the airport that day. Shakes, there are some reactors who I have to listen to when they react to Angelina. You are right there, Shakes, and I appreciate not only your reactions to our barefoot Princess but what you are all about, too. I think the set for this was the one used for the My Funny Valentine video. Looks like the same shop. For those of us who knew the originals she covers it takes us about 3 listens to her version to understand what she did to the song and why, in most cases, it turns out to be better. You certainly know much, much more than me and do you agree that besides her fantastic voice there is so much more she is doing and I don't know if her efforts are truly appreciated by the guys and gals on the street.

LOL) Great reaction to the incredibly beautiful and talented Angelina Jordan 🙂 As I've said earlier, Ive been following her since she was 7, and the stuff she is doing right now is just way off the charts good. And she hasn't even started. How crazy is that ? I hear every new, subtle nuance in her voice, and it just astonishes me each and every time I hear her. She always brings something new to the table, vocally, as if to check how her experiments are being received by the audience. She is definitely still in the experimental phase, and the end product is almost scary to think about. Angelina has got it all, it's just a matter of watching everything unfold. I'm dying of curiosity regarding her upcoming album. But I'll bite down, at least until her concert here in Norway on July 10th. I got up a little early to watch it at the premiere and have listened to it a dozen times now or so. I love the sandwich approach with the repeat of the first verse at the end: or actually the repeat of the last verse at the start (if you compare it to the original). I love the strong beginning. The arrangement, piano, guitar are amazing. The visuals are gorgeous and the scene with her two young nieces and her sister give the impression of her growing up. It's just so beautiful. Comparing this version with the one of Elvis, I feel that Elvis version is a sort of upbeat, hopeful plea for things to change so that love can go on. With Angelina's version there is resignation at first: things must change and else it will be over. When towards the end when it turns into a desperate plea. But that's my take on her take on Elvis' take on Mark James' immortal song :-) The set is the shop from 'My Funny Valentine' version of 2022.

The Piano Guy is Rob Christie, Studio Director for the LA Republic Records Studio, he’s also a Grammy Winner and has worked with many great artists. He appears on several of Angelina’s videos. Since Angelina was signed at 14, Rob has taken Angelina under his arm. He was the man behind RR using Angelina as the vocal artist for her cover of Mercy for the Soundtrack of “The Hating Game” movie.

Shakes, word has it that Angelina’s debut album with Republic Records is being released in August. In case you didn’t notice in the beginning credits, Angelina’s grandma, Mery Zamani is the executive producer of this video. The black leather outfit Angelina is wearing is a replica of what Elvis wore and the guitar she used is the one Elvis used in his 1968 come back tour. Her ‘Bee Hive’ hair style is what women in 1968 were wearing. Angelina’s stunning arrangement and her breath taking vocal performance of this Elvis cover is another master work of our barefoot angel. I commend grandma, Mary for her brilliant choice to incorporate Angelina’s uncle Michael’s two beautiful young girls and Angelina’s sister, Juliette to give the image of Angelina’s growth and development. I also commend grandma, Mery for keeping with having Angelina standing in one spot and having pianist, Rob Christie accompany her. award winning pianist, Rob Christy added his outstanding talent to this stunning production.

In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, he is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." and, in my mind, Angelina's rendition is much truer to the lyrics than any other singer, including Elvis. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. I paste below the order in which Angelina sung the verses. "Suspicious minds" Angelina Jordan - lyrics rearranged. This was a masterpiece in terms of maturity, genius, vocals, artistry, and just tears. I think it is a prelude to what we can expect going forward and we are in for quite a ride. I do have one thing I noticed though that feedback would be great on. She sang barefoot as always but at one part at 4:05 she was sitting with one boot on and one sock on. It was the first time I've ever seen her performing and not barefoot. Yet again she was barefoot for the rest of the performance. Any thoughts? That is one thing I would hate to see her change. It is human nature to strive for gratification and success. In the music reaction world that applies to the reactor, artist, and viewers. You, as a reactor, personally reach that desired place when your fans watch your entire video, give it a like and a comment, subscribe, thus boosting your KZbin algorithm. However, this provides no direct benefit for your featured artists like Angelina, or for your viewers. You may provide the artists some exposure, but they require more. How can you make sure the artists and viewers share in your success? Simply encourage your viewers to use links you provide in the description, to watch, like, comment and subscribe to the original video and official channel links as you do for your channel. They will greatly appreciate your reminder to support their favorite artist, and this is likely to motivate them to subscribe to you in higher numbers. Your ongoing support will generate more loyalty to your channel, and fans will be more likely to recommend it to others. Finally, aspiring artists like Angelina deserve their due credit, and this will benefit her algorithm as well, thus achieving equal gratification and success for all.
