I like your thoughts and reactions when it comes to Angelina. I am 61 and it surprised me when you say that no one is over 40. At the same time, Angelina has the ambition that she will and will sing for the whole world, and she has laid a good foundation for all age groups to eventually come to the list to our barefoot princess. I love your reactions to Angelina. I am 71 and love all kinds of music, the 60’s was my era, but I appreciate modern music too (maybe not rap because I can’t understand what is being said). I think most young people tend to think current music is the only music, although there are exceptions, yourself included. Older fans- If you were born 6 or 7 decades ago as many of Angelina’ s fans, you would have lived through the Iconic vocalist’s work that has withstood the test of time. Angelina is most comfortable and at ease singing on a stage with thousands of people in the audience and delivering her wonderful vocal performance each and every time like it was just a walk in the park. I agree with you I think. Angelina definitely has an older audience who loves her music because she is vintage, nostalgic and an old soul. You'll find her audience with many seniors. This was the first performance I ever heard from her about 6 years ago. I had never heard of her. It randomly came up on KZbin. I always liked the song so I gave it a go. I was speechless to say the least. I played it over and over. By the time I discovered "I Put A Spell On You", I was a big fan. I don't listen to hard rock/metal so much these days. AJ is my playlist. Your observation about the older fan base is accurate. At 68 I count in that group. To be fair, she covers a lot of songs from way before my time. Era and genre are irrelevant for her. I think her EP has a lot of songs that should appeal to younger people. Now, it is a matter of promotion. Her upcoming Las Vegas concerts may be the start of that.

This is a favorite performance of many, many Angelina 'angels'. There are so many wonderful things going on. If you heard the most popular version of the song sung by Dinah Washington in the 50's you would be shocked to hear both of them together (Dinah Washington in her 30's and Angelina at 8 years old). In answer to your question, yes, that is a concern of people in Angelina's camp but here is the solution. What she sings and her style is not what the young people today listen to. They listen to, well, I don't know what it is but I don't call it music. So, rather than Angelina sing differently to attract the younger audience she will continue to do what she does (her originals are getting good feedback from the younger crowd) and the point is let them begin to realize Angelina is what music is all about and she will eventually draw them in so that they can listen to real music. Believe me, Angelina will pull it off. When one of them stops listening to bang, bang, bang, and they hear her sing, once they make the adjustment they need to do they will come on board to join all of us around the world. Sooner than later, EVERYONE IN THE WORLD will know who Angelina Jordan is.

I've just completed my first three-quarter century but even for me this style of music was before my time - just. I grew up with The Beatles and a completely different sound. Angelina is straight out of the fifties. When I first heard her sing this I didn't like it much because I didn't care for this style of music. But Angelina quickly changed all that! She makes everything come new again. Now I can't get enough of her! Regarding her clarity of words, many people have said they have been listening to a particular song for years but never really heard the lyrics until they heard Angelina sing it. If you're familiar with Dinah Washington's rendition, you quickly come to realize that Angelina's 'vocal chameleon' ability comes to the fore for the 2nd time in her singing life, for she sounds just like Dinah. The first time she emulated the vocals of a singer exactly, was 'of course' her first audition at 7 on Norway's Got Talent when she sounded so much like Billie Holiday singing Gloomy Sunday that talk began in earnest about Billie being reincarnated in a 7 year old Norwegian girl.

Great reaction. Yes it would seem that Angelina has a primarily older fan base. I think the reasoning behind that is the type of music she started with when she was very young, jazz and stabsards. This would attract an older audience. However I think we all realize that Angelina will need to also appeal to a younger audience to have a long and successful career. Us old timers are not going to be around forever. I think her newer music is a step in that direction. Maybe fans in their late teens and twenties to thirties. Somme of her older fans would seem to prefer that she stick with the music she started with but the truth is she has been expanding her music style for years, even when she was still fairly young. I think she needs to do the music she wants to do. Some of her music may not fit with what some fans want her to do but I think she needs to be true to herself. I personally love her own music and look for to more of her originals. I respect an artist even more when they create their own material.

Her grandma Mery introduced Angelina to artists like Dinah Washington (who won a Grammy for her recording of this song in 1959 when I was 11 years old), Nina Simone, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald...most of the popular vocalists of that time. Angelina found Billie Holiday on her own one night when she couldn't sleep and borrowed her mother's iPad where she found a Billie Holiday recording on KZbin.That's why most of her fan base is 40+ years old - we, like your grandparents, grew up listening to this music!

I was never a jazz lover but experiencing Angelina I have developed a liking for the genre. She gave some more flavor to these dormant gems. Here are a 3 child performers who have been developing over the years since auditioning and doing great work today. Nearly 4 years later, I am still in awe. Angelina has told us she has written more than 100 songs and we have been blessed with 12 of the so far. Here is the list. "What is Life" first sung at age 11. We don't know how old she was when she wrote each song. Age presented is her age when she first sang it. "Oslo" age 11 "Shield" age 12 "Million Miles" age 14 we know she wrote this one in the days after her maternal grandfather passed in 2019 when she was 13 "7th Heaven" age 15 "Love Don't Let Me Go" age 17 "Now I'm the Fool" age 17 "Fire and Rain" age 17 "It's All My Fault" age 17 "Good in Goodbyes" age 17 "Diamond" age 17 "Our Time" age 17 Should include songs for which she was the first to sing "I'm Still Holding Out for You" age 10 .... considered one of her best vocal performances by many "Song for A" age 12 "Above the Water" a EDM song released near her 14th birthday "We're the Best" sung with RedOne at the FIFA Awards February 27, 2023 Angelina wrote new lyrics for two famous songs by Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black" and "Rehab" since it was inappropriate for a preteen to sing the original lyrics. Just my opinion JND regarding the audience views and the age group your YT statistics show you. We "older" folks appreciate "real" music and that includes all the classic songs Angelina has chosen to sing, she was brought up on great music and great artists and appreciates what that music is, she is quite brilliant. Again, my opinion, the current generation and or younger generation is fed mostly the junk that the music industry feeds them, the lip syncing, auto tuned, highly mixed and produced stuff that creates so called "stars" out of highly mediocre singers adding lots of dazzle, costumes, back up dancers etc..etc.. Very few actually know what a real artist or a masterful vocalist is these days...just watch the "Grammy's". As people mature in age you just get it. I really enjoy seeing someone in your young age appreciate artistry in music so a shout out to you JND. Personally, I grew up on Rock/Metal music but recognize real musical talent when I hear it...and Angelina is that, once in a generation talent. Just my humble opinion.🥰🥰

This is an 8 year old child isolated on an island amongst thousands of people singing live retreating into her happy place while she performs. As soon as she stops, she becomes a shy little 8 year old girl. As far as her fans go, the kids now have been listening to pitch corrected autotuned music for so long, it has allowed artists with no talent to become big stars. When you listen to them sing live without autotune, it’s an absolute disaster. Billie Eilish and Miley Cyrus are in the minority of the ones who can actually sing, but they’re not even in the same universe as Angelina. I think I said this before, she has had zero exposure in the United States. You have GOT to appear on television here and she hasn’t, except for AGT when she was 13, she’s now 18.

And on The View when she was eight. I'm shocked she is so little known over there, but then here in the UK we don't hear her on the radio either. I suppose she has to hit the right groove at the right time to become 'big'.

@@fredneecher1746 In the States, people watch television for entertainment. Over 200 out of 350 million Americans watched the Super Bowl. Practically no one goes on the Internet for entertainment. When teenage boys go on the internet for “entertainment”, it’s not for music, if you know what I mean. In Europe there are no centralized television networks like we have here, plus there are local television stations in every mid sized city in America that all collect advertising revenue. How many local stations are there in the UK, or are BBC 1 and 2 the only options?

❤️❤️❤️❤️👣 Older people know quality when they hear it, whereas often younger people have been trained by the music industry to like what they can manufacture and market, and auto tune and pitch correct. Angelina is not any of those things and you can hear the difference.
