Why not start with "I Put a Spell on You" (B&W version, 9 y.o) and then "Feeling good", the latter performance is from the same place as the "What a different a day make" was done, Fredrikstens fästning (fortress) in the city of Halden near the Swedish border. I believe it's recorded one year later than "What a different a day make" but others may know better(?). BTW the fortress is the place where the most famous king of Sweden (Karl XII) was killed in an effort to attack Norway 1718. I put a spell on you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKipnaJ5hb2tedU Feeling good: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXnEfqmhm9F1d9E

Another ANGELina Angel have SUBscribed. Maybe you should follow Rusty Shacklefords cronological list, maybe, or at least look at it, so you know what's what and when? ^^ the beginning is "I who have nothing, she was 6 yrs, and trying out her singing in a studio... think it had something to do with her school. anyways, adorable. After that song, the list playlist should appear on the right in cronological order (age and performance) fyi ;) Link below. Wow. She makes a person reassess their judgment on reincarnation. If anyone can be reborn again, this lovely girl was. I remember her being on America's Got Talent, the Champions, but she was older. And, BARRY...She sang Bohemian Rhapsody in a way you've never heard before. Was magical.

Hi Barry, that was a wonderfully fun reaction & review of Angie. Thank you so much. Your fun to watch when your doing Angie songs. Welcome to the world of Angelina’s music. Angie takes covers & Angelinalizes them & they become new. She chooses, & does all her own arrangements ever since she was very young, even when she did “Screaming Jay Hawkins “I put a spell on you” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKipnaJ5hb2tedU at age barely 9, if you react to this be ready for a major Roller Coaster ride. She also paints, plays 4 instruments & speaks & sings 4+ languages, English being her 3rd or 4th. Angie turned 14 on 1-10-20. Angie is a very kind, giving, loving, respectful, & big hearted Christian girl. She always sings barefoot when performing & she wrote a book about it at 9 called “Between Two Worlds”, others will explain this or you can look it up. When you listen to Angie there are a few of her songs you'll need a box of tissues & you can even pause (blow nose) & start filming again. I'll give you a link to her 1st released single by Republic records titled “Million Miles” She wrote this shortly after her grandpa (mom’s dad) died in Nov. 2019, she was 13 than she sang it at 14. Angie & her grandma did the art for the video. Angelina said, “This song is dedicated to anyone who has lost a loved one. I wrote this song thinking about all the great memories I had with my grandpa and how much it hurts to lose someone. I hope this song finds a place in you heart, as it comes straight from mine”. Stargate producer singer/songwriter Dakota posted on her instagram regarding the collaboration with Angie, said “This girls talent is freakin insane.” (I do hope you buy & download her single & help support her art & music) “Million Miles” by Angelina Jordan Astar kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJmug5trj9mojc0 she wrote it at 13 & she recorded it here at 14. (Please download the song & support her art & music). You should start from where it all began. “I who have nothing” Tom Jones & Shirley Bassey covers. She’s 6 in a sound booth at her school. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJu0i354pbuUm9U “Gloomy Sunday” by Billie Holiday she was 7 here on NGT Audition kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmTKhJulbt6Zbpo “I’m a fool to want you” cover by Billie Holiday she’s 7 NGT quarter finals a capella & haunting kzbin.info/www/bejne/bH2slISCasx_pbs “Bang Bang” cover by Nancy Sinatra she was 8 NGT semi finals kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppSloHVqbqyrpJo “Summertime” by George Gershwin she’s 8 Finals kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJ_Td6Z5g7CtfMk u did this 1 Angie did “Summertime” again with a orchestra & at age 10 for a concert & changed it up abit. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaXad2eqnpanmMU “I’ll be there” by the Jackson 5 kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6HFo4FqZ75nptE Angie was 8 & fighting a cold “Fly me to the moon”(Acoustic) by Frank Sinatra kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3-liop3bN5jlaM she’s 9 Angie singing “It's a man's world” by James Brown live at age12 in concert. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnbQaKd9p898gc0 a coach says she hits a G5 in the big belt. “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmnOcn9jqKx9rpo Angie is 10 here & it's live “I’d rather go blind” by Etta James kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWe0qWaQqbZopcU Angie was 13 & kickin back “Stay” by Rihanna kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3vZXpZ_lJlraM0 Angie is 12 “Someone like you” by Adele kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKPSgJmjf6qoo7c Angie was 13 here. “Wicked Game” by Chris Issak kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3qkfnlqe6mZrZY When she was around 11-12. Barry, in my opinion, you don’t listen to an Angelina performance. You experience it. I have never been more profoundly emotionally affected by a young singer as I have been with Angelina. There are not enough adjectives to describe the all consuming visceral experience I feel when listening to this incredibly and uniquely gifted young child. Her performances are absolutely breath taking, stunning and captivating. There is a common denominator with all of her live performances and that is other than claps and cheers you don’t hear a peep coming from the audience. They are all hypnotized and wholly fixated on every word and syllable that comes from Angelina’s voice. I thank God I discovered Angelina. She is like a drug. We keep wanting more and she always delivers.

Barry, it's now June 3, 2023, and Angelina is 17 and going strong. She is graduating from secondary school this month and a new album (all original music!) is coming out soon, probably to coincide with a worldwide tour of sorts. Last summer she performed a series of Concerts in Norway and people from all over the world attended because they couldn't pass up the opportunity to see her perform live. Within the past month she has introduced one of the songs from the album, 'Love Don't Let Me Go', and it is doing very well globally. It is a catchy number and is getting the attention of the younger audience. There was a concern her fan base had an average age of 50 because of all the covers she does and the element of jazz but that is all changing now and Barry, her popularity will soar to heights unimaginable. Do we expect all the new people coming aboard to react any differently than we did when we discovered her? Of course their brains will not be able to figure out what is going on when they listen to her sing FOR THEM (she sings FOR people, not to people) but their hearts will hear within seconds the love in her voice and the door to their hearts will open wide to let her in. They will get goosebumps, start to tear up (with the urge to cry) and find it difficult to string words together to make intelligent sentences during or right after she sings. She remains humble, kind, caring and loving and I believe she will touch everyone in the world with her love. Barry, the more everyone finds out 'who she is' makes it very evident she is much, much more than a wonderful singer. I will always stop by to say hello to you and I hope you are well. Or, as we say in New York, "How ya doin'?" Why do I get the feeling you are in demand to sing for people who adore you. Yes? Barry, the love pours out of you when you sing, as well.

Barry, as you progress through her repertoire of songs you will notice that when the performance really grabs her and she is possessed by the song, her eyes close and her head sways. Doesn't matter if she is sitting on her couch or performing with an orchestra. Sometimes she is experimenting and it is still remarkable but those times she inhabits the song are magic. Grab your heart and make you catch your breath. This girl is a gift to us. I say thank you every time l hear her.

Hello, Barry! Love you reactions to Angelina! She's now 17 and she is going to have her first USA Concert Sep 22, 2023, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in The Historic Theater at The Music Hall. The sitting capacity is 895 and so it will be a very intimate affair. She has an EP out featuring 6 songs from her new album (all original music) and perhaps the album will be officially introduced at the time of her Concert. To say the least I am very excited about going and I hope they sell smelling salt at the concession area because I'm afraid half the audience is going to faint when she first appears on stage! (No lie!) She graduated secondary school in June and it has been determined by her and her very loving family it's time to shift gears and now go forward, full steam ahead, to bring her career to new depths. New depths? That everyone in the world will know who Angelina Jordan is and the love in her heart will touch everyone. Incredible? Barry, we are so fortunate she is amongst us and the love which is in the air is a two way street. She truly loves us and we love her very much and want her to know if she ever has a moment where she needs strength we will always be there to give her comfort. Hope you are well. Barry, you have some of that same magic as Angelina and it can be defined as being a good soul, a caring human being, and the feeling we get when we see people like the both of you is very genuine. Take care.

It bears mentioning that in this venue AJ is on tiny stage a dozen meters or more from her backup singers and a dozen more (at least) from the band..talk about being on an island. Yet the 8yo Angelina is utterly unfazed by this, is completely at ease, closes her eyes most of the time and takes us all on a journey to her special singing place. Wow. Yes, as you say, she dominates any jazz composition she touches but her versatility to perform other genres is equally impressive (if that can be possible). You will see. Keep going and Merry Christmas!

Angelina is one of the most addictive singers I have ever listened to, & one of the very few, that can pull you right into the song, making you feel, every word, every note, & every emotion. ❤️💙 I always have this feeling that Angelina is not only channeling some of these late great singers, but that they also pass through her, when she is singing their song ❤️💙 A rare beauty, in every sense of the word ❤️💙 Whether you are a believer in reincarnation or not, I find it very intriguing that Lou Rawls, the American Jazz & blues singer legend, passed away the same day Angelina is born 😊 Loved your reaction & commentary!!!

We understand you getting lost in her vocal and falling into a little trance. It's what she does. She puts so much detail into every line that you hang on every word to not miss a thing. ...and then she somehow makes it so effortless, so natural, so organic that you sometimes forget you are even listening, and you just fall right into the beautiful world she is painting with her voice. The stuff she is doing here... it just can't be taught to someone, she was born with it. Now that you have vowed to listen to everything she has done, you should know... it is a lot.. and every single thing you see is going to blow you away. I also forgot to leave you this little bio on your first reaction so I will just drop it here. I think the more you learn about her, the more you are going to appreciate how special she is..... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person. - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written four of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", and "Million Miles" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music. Update: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist". On Nov 6 she has released her first single under Republic... "Million Miles"! She has done so much already, but at 14 she is just getting started!!!

Thank you Thank you for this reaction and review, which I think you will find Angelina fans will love what you are doing just as much as I love it. I have followed you through most of your videos and was patiently requesting Angelina, ok ok so I was not so patient, yes I was pestering, but I knew you would love her, and with your style of doing reactions and reviews, it was perfect. I know you have lots of requests, but I think I will request "I Put A Spell On You" Black and White version at 9 years old, it is kind of an initiation of sorts to new reactors and it will draw even more fans than you have now. It is definitely a different side of Angelina that comes out every once in a while. Also when you get 30k which will be soon hoping you will sing us a song, I know it will be great. Hope Your Christmas season is wonderful, oh and Angelina does have a few Christmas songs "White Christmas 2016 version (live)" (there is a younger one but she has a bad cold) and "Mary's Boy Child" but it is audio.

Her grandmother played jazz records for her from the time of her birth. Everything? She's got 130+/- covers and four originals for you to discover. Just a year after she won NGT, at nine years of age, she dropped her own arrangement based on showman Screamin' Jay Hawkins 1956 original, "I Put a Spell on You", not Nina Simone's softer 1963 cover which virtually everyone else uses. You'll see her writing some last minute instructions to the band, and the band leader reading them. Then, she appears with a candle with Hawkin's image, which she had to have made herself, because he has been unfortunately forgotten. Then, prepare yourself, fasten your seatbelt! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKipnaJ5hb2tedU

This is probably my favourite from those 7-8 years. And Bang bang. What never ceases to amaze me, and I am sensitive to this as a former drummer, is her insanely sophisticated sense of rhythm and timing. This song can be sung with practically every note hitting an upbeat or downbeat. I’m not sure if Angelina hit any. She was early, she was late, she would tease us as she dragged into a note, she made up her own syncopations, and she did it all, effortlessly, with that perfectly smooth delivery, never seeming forced as if the words kind of floated along above the instrumentals, connected by gossamer threads with little silver dotted quarter notes and diamond-encrusted beamed eighth notes dangling from them. Or something like that. Seriously, that’s the best way I can describe the image in my head when I actually pay attention to this stuff while she’s singing. Much better to let go and enjoy. 😐 She does similar things melodically. She can easily hit a note bang on if he needs to, and does so with shockingly impeccable pitch for anyone, never mind an EIGHT year old!! As you noted, she can also dance lightly above the pitch, gliding from note to note. The fact that she can do either of the things with her level of sophistication is a bloody Christmas miracle. The fact that she can do both at the same time is unthinkable. And yet here we are here watching it happen 6 years later. And being overwhelmed by hallucinations of gossamer and silver and diamonds. It good that you are trying to make peace between Angelina’s Angels and Dimash’s... fans (sorry, didn’t catch their handle). You could do a great service to mankind. Nobel Peace Prize worthy. And Angelina can perform at the ceremony like she did for Malala and Kailash Satyarthi in 2018.

I thought I was the only one who noticed about the timing and the other but it all comes together so beautifully it works. Even when there is a crack in her voice. Someone once said even her imperfections are perfection. Truer words were never spoken. Just like what you said about diamonds and gossamer threads. How poetically you put it. When I pointed out a mistake in timing or pitch to my sister who is also an Angelina fan, she wisely replied, oh, but was it a mistake? We laughed and agreed that she was right. Lol.

When she closes her eyes, you can see she's feeling the song. She was brought up in a household full of the old jazz masters. It's the only music she enjoyed while little and absorbed all of the technique used by Billie, Ella, Sara ]h Vaughn and others. Now she covers Adele, Queen, Whitney Houston, John Legend and many others. She makes every cover her very own. The ANgelina Jordon Cover Channel has had over 36 million views.

Happens to the best of us! 😂 Once you've heard Angelina sing, you're forever hooked! The thing with her is not that she has an amazing voice, cuteness overload when she was young and beautiful young lady now. There's a quality in the way she sings, like you said the emotion she puts in every word, that it grabs you and goes straight to your heart. By the way, I really like your approach to the reaction: listening, reviewing, final thoughts (if you can manage some, lol) See you in the next one ;)

Hard to believe, Barry, but you ain’t heard nothing yet. Angelina covers many genres, but jazz is in her bones and it gives her the vocal freedom to really use her talents. Those talents include a uniquely beautiful, raspy, soothing voice, plus her innate musicality. And her timing is flawless, even at 8 years old here. You’ve listened to two songs with a similar slow tempo. To continue with Angelina still very young, but to show you some jaw-dropping talent, your next review should be Angelina going full-throttle bluesy with I Put a Spell on You (the b&w version at 9 years old). Angelina fans lovingly refer to this as Angelina in her beast mode. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKipnaJ5hb2tedU Then you can move on to more recent songs like her stunning arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, or her covers of Adele’s A Million Years Ago or Someone Like You. Angelina makes you forget the original songs. She’s become the best interpreter of lyrics I’ve ever heard. You’ve got a lot to choose from. I’ve never heard a better singer or one who can cover so many genres so well.

I know you're new to Angelina Barry, so here's a heads up. It’s really more than just her magnificent voice. How many vocalists can you name who make you “feel” their vocals in your soul, or just reach in and grab your heart, and bring you to tears every time? That’s Angelina. How many songwriters at 14, or any age, can write the heartfelt lyrics that Angelina put forth in her latest “Million Miles." That’s Angelina. How many vocalists can you name who aren’t just singing to the music, but rather their voice IS the music? That’s Angelina with her wonderful melisma, vocal fry, vibrato, and jazz stylings. That’s why Angelina is at her best when accompanied by only one or two acoustic instruments. As you noted, Angelina IS jazz! It flows through her blood! How many 8 or 9 year olds are arranging their own music, giving instructions, or as Angelina calls them her “wishes,” to the orchestra leaders and musicians? Then add in her humanity, raising millions upon millions for children’s charities around the world. Performing barefoot since age six in remembrance of an orphan girl and all the children around the world with no shoes, clothing, or family. That’s Angelina. Her humility shines also. A small courtsy, or bow, and a smile at the end of an epic performance tells you how humble she is, as does her smile, wave and “bye” at the end of many private sessions. So, it’s so much more than just her voice. It’s really the whole package. Her voice has been called "a gift from the universe." True, but Angelina Jordan Astar herself is truly gift to us all.

The BEST part of your reaction (and I say this in ONLY the best way), is that you are so astounded with her talent (exactly as I am) that even in your "analysis" portion of the video, you just basically listen to her entire performance again without saying anything, because she has the ability to simply "captivate" with her magnificence at the age of EIGHT! They should just eliminate the definitions from beside the word "talent" in all dictionaries, and substitute those eradicated definitions with pictures of an 8-year-old Angelina Jordan! Lol.

Great reaction! When it comes to Angelina, the first word that comes to me is "reincarnation". There's no doubt in my mind that an old soul lives within this gift from the heavens we've been given. She is the catalyst that is creating interest in this music from a bygone era, and that includes many of today's younger generation. Will it make a comeback? Only time will tell.

I agree 100%. I've been following her for about 5 years, and I'm still amazed every time I hear her sing. The emotion that she displays, she should know nothing of at her age, yet no matter what it is, I smile or I cry from the joy or the sadness. She truly is a gift from God, and I am so happy that she pestered her mother at 7 years old to be on "Norway's Got Talent". You still have so many songs to react to, and each one is wonderful in it's own way. There are a couple that stand out more than others, in my opinion, and the one that Angelina's fans always look forward to, is her black and white video of Screaming Jay Hawkins original 1956 "I Put A Spell On You", when she was 9 years old. The other is her rendition of Queens, "Bohemian Rhapsody" at 13 years old on America's Got Talent: The Champions 2. No matter where you go, I'm along for the journey, as I just love watching people discovering this amazing young lady. (she will be 15 on Jan 10)

I wonder if Barry will do both songs in one of his videos, and luxuriate in those?" Examples... SUMMERTIME (TV version at age 7 with canned music but a live trumpet player versus her 9/10 year old's version with a live orchestra; or FEELING GOOD with the TV studio's sassy brass band or in this same park-festival setting with a rock band).

Barry, hello there🙌. I'm so pleased you 'reacted' to this song as it is one of my go to songs of hers when I need to feel cherished and it's also as you can imagine , one of the favourite staples of many AJ fans You say you want to react to ALL her works, well, you are in for a treat !! There's over 130 of them catalogued by Rusty Shackleford (lives & breathes Angelina ) in chronological order..Any songs of that list you pick is an absolute winner in my opinion but to get an idea on where the phenomenon first began or was first viewed world wide, you need to start at her audition in Norway's Got Talent at age 7 years old !! Your first reaction 'Summertime' was her winning song . I look forward to your discovery journey of our girl as a new subscriber to your channel and I will specially look out for your reaction when you do the black and white version of ' I Put a Spell on You :'(9 years old paying homage to the original artist Screaming Jay Hawkins)_ Lucky for us viewers you go through videos twice because her performance will leave you truly dumbfounded and awestruck. Certainly the tone of her voice, vocal fry, and vibrato are "god given" gifts. And they are gifts she has worked very hard to perfect. But the phrasing, back phrasing, negative space, and jazz vibe, are all things she has learned and been practicing since she was younger that two. She listens over and over to Billie, Ella, Etta, Dinah (originator of this song), Amy, Elvis, Adele, et.al. Since that very young age she has embraced her "calling", with focus, determination, and dedication. While the talent she was given is certainly unique and important, what she has done to direct and perfect it is equally, if not more important. Angelina is one-of-a-kind. There simply is no one out there like her. But lets give credit where credit is do---she Earned it! I love your reactions to the Fabulous Angelina. And as a loyal subscriber, I'm look forward to many more. Best wishes Barry. 💕💕

Hi Barry, thanks for another beautiful and careful reaction. When Angelina is so identified with her source of inspiration, she leaves me absolutely amazed, when she performs in this Norwegian festival "Sing-along at the Border", almost every year, she really gives her best, you see that she has a good feeling with the people around her. How is it possible that a little girl (in this case at 8 years old) is so incredibly emotional and talented as a professional singer to completely involve and fascinate the her audience? It's simply fantastic, when she closes her eyes she really seems to be in contact with Dinah Washington, without any fear of her central position in the attention of thousands of spectators 😍 🤪 Angelina often participates in this event and you will see that there are several of her performances over the years, always beautiful. This is his enchanting jazz version of "Feeling Good", 2 years later in 2016 at 10. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXnEfqmhm9F1d9E Or there's this awesome recording from 2017 where he's even sparkling and enjoying a gospel version of "Something's Got a Hold On Me" 🤗 kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6CVl3Soj7prsNU
