Aurora gives 110% on every song. Unlike lots of performers today, she doesn't try and take breaks, unless she wants the music to shine further. She actively sings a lot of the instrumental moments. Really born to be an artist. The world needs more natural artists, not just people who grind the game, if you catch my drift.

@@joaomjguerreiro I love her cover of Life On Mars. In part.....because while I've always loved that song purely musically, I never really understood the lyrics...never had a clue what it was about. But now I feel like I have a real understanding of what the song is about. And that's thanks to Aurora....for whatever reason, through her cover, the lyrics clicked for me...and suddenly made contextual sense. The story being told. I get it now. I'd heard that song easily 100 times before Aurora covered it...and never wrapped my mind around the meaning of the actual lyrics. Thank you for reacting to one of Aurora's greatest concerts. The Nidarosdomen is the northern most medieval cathedral in the world, located in the city of Trondheim in Norway. It is the traditional location for the consecration of new Kings of Norway, and took 230 years to build from 1070 to 1300. Every song of this concert is a gem, and several are masterpieces, especially "It Happened Quiet" and "Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1".

Everything she does musically in a song is driven by the lyrics I think. Soft Universe to me is all about the lyrics “Don't let me turn into pain All of this is loveliness” and “make for me a soft universe”. She recognizes that in the duality of existence, everything exists with it’s opposite including all the loveliness. She is asking, knowing that it is a futile request, for a soft universe where just one thing, Love might exist without it’s opposite, pain. She expresses such deep concepts with simple words which is why I love her so much.

Hi Adam, love your reactions😉 I would like to say something about the lighting designer at this concert. Her name is Silje Grimstad. She is also Norwegian and lives in Bergen. A little rare with a lady behind these levers. She is a good friend of Aurora and, in addition to lighting control, has also been the tour leader on several of the tours at the beginning of Aurora's career. Shortly after this concert, Silje received an artist scholarship from Bergen municipality. She has excelled several times, including now during the pandemic, she created again with Aurora when they held a virtual concert in a hall full of mannequins in Bergen. Also a concert well worth watching. Aurora has a lot of good technicians with her here in Norway and we are very proud of the beautiful experiences they create together. Watch the Nidaros concert and notice the lighting. Silje creates incredibly beautiful moods and I think it is an important part of how this concert hits the youtube audience so strongly. I hope Aurora and also the people around her never let go of the imaginative, creative and yes childlike .. we can, and will, follow our own path. Rewatching this (with you lol) in the dog days of summer....trying to remind myself it'll be a winter wonderland soon... Just paused to say I agree with your reaction when Walking in the Air started. I remember being very pleasantly surprised by that choice. It's hands down my favorite Christmas/winter song. I'm American, but I grew up in France for several years as a young kid, and one very strong memory is of The Snowman being played every year around Christmas. I only spoke English then, so TV watching options for me were _very_ limited. David the Gnome was dubbed into English....and that's literally about it lol. In retrospect, I was lucky to grow up NOT deeply immersed in TV as a result. But.............The Snowman, crucially, was totally absent any speaking parts. It was just this magical story told with beautiful hand drawn animation and a musical score that still hits me in the feels to this day. So the song Walking in the Air has always meant a lot to me. And it's just a damn fine song. So when I first saw this concert, which was literally the first thing I'd ever seen/heard Aurora in, and that song started....I knew I'd stumbled across an artist I would love for the rest of my life.
@avedic2 жыл бұрын
I think it's also the fact that I've never met a single other American who knows about The Snowman, or this song. It seems to be a quintessentially European thing. Even though I'm American, those years growing up in France left me with a deep fondness and respect for European culture, across the various nations. And so this song is also kind of a lifeline back to that world....a world my fellow Americans know nothing about(or at least most of them lol).... :)

I instantly saved the video and watched in my sunday evening prime time slot. I have of cause watched this whole concert at least ten times before, but is is always better to share the experience. The arrangement of this concert is unique. Bringing in the harps, the choir and the organ just transport these songs to a completely different place than their album versions. I think you would be surprised to hear that Murder Song actually has a synth beat on the album. Still god, but so much different. I was smiling when you declared "This is the moment" just BEFORE It happend quiet, which is arguably the most prominent performance from this concert. The strongest reactions are often to that song. But for me, it I had to choose a moment, I think it would have to be Soft Universe. I am simply in love with this version. But it's a hard call with so many perfect tens. Once again, thank you. Glad I stumbled upon this. Good stuff. Aurora is amazing and such a lovely person. We went to see her at the Boilershop in Newcastle last November. She spent a while talking to us afterwards. She almost ripped my other half's coat open as he was wearing a Bergen t-shirt he bought when we were there in June 2019. I listen to her a lot, as well as Sigrid and Iris.

I couldn’t wait to sit and watch this with you. Aurora is Magical what else is there to say. And yes, I couldn’t agree more with you, this was the perfect venue for her to perform her magical music. She is so beautiful. Auroras vocals and lyrics are full of wisdom beyond her age.. and when she sings... it reaches deep into your core. I get totally absorbed emotionally by her soft gentle tone. My goodness... this must have been amazing for those who were there.

This is so great man! I would super enjoy if you reacted for the KEXP gig she did in 2018, she gets really wild there. It's 29 min long, but believe me, that you won't be bored for a second.

Beautiful. I watched the whole thing with you, and it felt like watching it all anew. You have a great way of finding the right places to comment and when to just watch and listen. I believe you are about to become a warrior now 🙂. Welcome to the Queendom. I have watched your previous recordings before this one, and I intend to go through the list one by one. It’s a lovely way for me to rediscover her magic. Good job. Keep them coming.

I love her cover of Life On Mars. Really goes to show Aurora's talent....that she could make me understand a song like that, as if hearing it for the first time. :)

I loved that you reacted on the whole concert and yes I was all the way thru with you and you can do that again anytime, I would love that. Each Live concert of Aurora is something special, it is unique, each time a moment in time. I know some people prefer one special version of her song and this is fine of course but to me each version of a song she sing is a special version, that can't be compared it is just different, like a picture in the time. The Nidarosdomen concert is unique, the place, the moment in the year, musicians around, the arrangement of songs, orchestration, this happened once, like for the HAIK concert, it happened once. This concert is from December 2017 and most of songs are from her first LP "All my Demons greeting me as a Friend", the song "Lucky" she wrote it at 9 yo, only "Soft Universe" and "It Happened Quiet" are from the EP "Infections Of a Different Kind" released in 2018. Thru this concert we see and feel, where she comes from and where she is going in a magical setup. Thank you for this awesome reaction, take care :o)

Such nice sentiments. They parody my own in substance and feeling . . And I to especially enjoy that Aurora can bring something unique and new to a song each time she performs it . . Also I feel educated by and can learn something new from Aurora's warriors also. Thank you AC
