A lot people love to crap on this band, but they're my favorite. I'm a Metal Head from the 80s and these guys took the Torch from the guys I grew up on and RAN with it 🤘🤘 This album was written with the drummer, The Rev, and then he accidentally OD'd just before the recording started. Listen to Fiction... It's the last lyrics the Rev wrote and to me it's a goodbye letter. It's deep and so well done, but this album almost didn't happen because of his death.

@Braden Emery nah he was already planning to phase the screaming out before that happened, that’s why WTF was about half screaming and half singing, that was the plan all along for shadows to move away from the screaming. The vocal Problems he had just reaffirmed that it was a good decision to change his vocals. It was a great decision too, city of evil is a phenomenal album and so is nightmare, love WTF and I always will be glad they moved away from that because they just kept evolving and pushing their limits creatively, majority of their music is still metal stuff just doesn’t feature as much screaming but it’s still dope

Many thanks for this react!! I’ve always avoided Metal songs like the plague in the past, mainly because they tend to give me literal headaches (something about the sound resonances of metallic/electric instruments, trumpets are pure hell). But I liked this one enough to add it to my playlist. Would never have found it without you and whoever recommended it.

Had to stop listening when you said you just found out not too long ago that the number 1 way people come together is on things they disagree with, that people don't bond on the things they like but on the things they dislike, then completely contradicted yourself by saying thats why alot of friendships fall out. I took a few years of psychology and that is 100% inaccurate.

Sorry, I have to be honest, I usually love your reactions to these guys. But this? This was boring to me. First reaction to this song that I’ve seen, where not a word was said about the music, or the instruments, or the transitions, or Matt’s voice... after the song picked up, I heard two ooo’s, & a comment on your take on lyrics, & that was it. Not being mean, i know not every one likes the same things, we’re allowed to have different opinions. I guess I was just expecting/hoping for more, good or bad. You didn’t even comment on the guitar solo.... I’m still following, I was just a little bummed.
