"The Stage" is an concept album that takes you through a journey about technology and its consequences. "Paradigm" makes you wonder about what science can do to an human being, about how the transformation from the human to an robot takes away the essence of living, the price you pay to live forever.
@gabriellima21513 жыл бұрын
@Tyriq oh, if the man himself told, so let the word go on. But at least for me, when I hear the whole album, it sounds like something built (written) under an subject.
@notahoagie84703 жыл бұрын
@Tyriq although its not a concept album, what he said about the song is true. How human are you really when you implement robotics to your being.
@smn10853 жыл бұрын
that depends of everyone understands for "concept album". a lot of albums goes about some concrete stuff.. this is about "universe" things
@kerchoo_04223 жыл бұрын
The Stage isn't necessarily a concept album, however it is conceptual in a sense because every song falls under the subject of humanity, life, ai, and how these thing's impact the human experience. It's a human record. Paradigm is about how artificial intelligence and technology could potentially change humanity, as you said. It explores the idea in a negative light.

Syn does the main guitar solos, and the “screaming” sound in the solo is a technique called a unison bend. For example play the 12th fret on the highest string (e) and then play and bend the 15th fret on the string above that (b)

A7X went in a progressive rock/metal direction with this album, so the drum patterns are very complex but it’s awesome. It’s a bit of a concept album as the songs talk about things like space, humanity and technology. This song in particular talks about nanotechnology and how it affects the human body, the lyrics portray that it’s designed to help the human body, but it poses the question, at what point are you still human if you’re part machine? It’s a pretty deep album if you ask me.

Been waiting for this. My favorite song from The Stage album. I've always interpreted the lyrics as humans using science to live forever and then questioning god about whether or not they still maintain the part of them that makes them human, hence the lyrics "father o' father have you lost that boy you used to know".

Great reaction as always!!!! If you haven’t reacted to “Simulation” from The Stage Album! You should!! It’s my favorite from the album! God bless you GIBBY!
@yoursensei88373 жыл бұрын
I always interpreted the song as the story of man's future, where we've merged so far together with machines it's impossible to tell the difference. We lose all our beliefs, we are our own God, but we don't get to feel any emotion. So it begs the question: is eternal life and omnipotence worth sacrificing your humanity? The man in the song regrets thinking it was. Pretty sad story, and fits with the album's spacey/futuristic theme so well. But that's just a theory. Great video Gibby!

This song is about humans becoming machine and if that were to happen, we may be godlike in stature and ability but how human would we be? Mortality is a human trait as well as feeling pain. Yes we may be able to make ourselves live forever and remove the ability to feel pain but we wouldn't really be human anymore at that point
@ajaynorris35263 жыл бұрын
A7X has the ability to really make you think about what they're singing about. Just look in the comments here and people have different opinions on what the song is about.
@petehorrorwood3 жыл бұрын
Lyrically, the context of this particular song is the immersion of humans and technology. You see a lot more development of the possibility with Elon Musks “nuralink” The paradigm reflects the possibility of this merge between humans and technology shedding our human side, or allowing us to “live for ever” But also asks the question Are we still human?

Growing up with A7X on the bus rides home after school. Having that insane nostalgia for this band.. This hurts to listen to. Lmao. Their albums tapered off after their 2007 self titled (I get that the rev wrote most of the meat of their songs) nightmare sounded like they picked a vanilla formula to make their songs or something. A lot of the songs just sound "Samey" and lazy. Most of nightmare forward just ends up sounding like 3 dudes on guitars and drums playing 3 different songs while Matt just like yells into his mic like he's playing rock band on the 360 with the boys hanging out in the garage.. Sorry A7X, You guys made some bangers in the past but this aint it chief. As far as metalcore goes from that era. BFMV/AILD/BMTH beat you in Every conceivable way.
