I got this answer out of Matt's mouth personally. This song is about their original bassist. He attempted suicide. part 1 is from HIS perspective. think of it as a suicide note (there's rumor parts of the bassist's actual note were used as lyrics, but it was too emotional for me to get direct verification). it's slow, soft, and beautiful. it represents him finally finding peace... through death. The second part gets aggressive and angry, because it is from the point of view of his loved ones. it's a projection of the stereotypical "how could you do something like this to us? " the anger that people project onto suicidal people. They don't realize how selfish of a thought that is, and how it can actually drive someone to repeat an attempt due to the shame they feel. both these songs are underrated. they are SO deep and SO well written!

When a person commits suicide it is a mental illness .The others don’t understand because they don’t no the thoughts he is going through .They might not no all the things he went through in his life that were the cause of it . So many vets have seen and done things that causes them so much pain .they self medicate to not feel the pain they are in and never tell anyone and some even never talk about it feeling weak and them not realizing what they went through . My son went trough a lot when he was in Iraq never told us what he went through was a hell of a soldier ,but had such a hard time when he came home relating to old friends. He did not commit suicide but lost his life and where he is buried we talked to other parents and the soldiers around him were so young and some told is that the three buried close to him did .Our son said at were he served they had at least one a day on base ,it is so sad . A sergeant told me one of his bravest best soldiers suddenly said that’s it on patrol he was done.All the others he knew were freaking out because this guy everyone looked up to so much .He explained that people are like a bottle in that every thing bad they go through is like a shake until so much it’s ready to finally explode .You never no what a person has gone through in life he said .

He never stole from any of us and always brought fantastic pieces of music to the table. Upon us trying to write ideas together for a 3 song EP in our jam space at our vocalists house for a few weeks and everyone taking it serious to potentially make a job out of it and working our asses off to show up to practice twice a week dude didnt show up to practice randomly so we all 4 thought maybe ahit came up and he couldnt make it. Called him over and over and over left voice mails worried the worse we all decided to go over to his place to see what was up and yah his roommate let us in he passed away from an overdose the day before😥 damn shame he was a wonderful bassist. The misinterpretation was bad enough, but then his little "inspirational speech" was just terrible, borderline insulting to someone who suffers from serious mental illnesses and issues with suicide. He clearly doesn't have an actual insight on this subject with his terrible advice and failure to realize that there are many outside factors beyond our control that will not allow us to just "get better" or whatever. A lot of us with mental illnesses just have different working brains, they don't function the same or "properly" and these issues are beyond our control. It would have been better to just stay quiet on this one.

A7X and Atreyu made up the Orange County metal core scene. Both came out about the same time. Early Atreyu is better in my opinion. But A7x has shown more range. Mainly bc Matt had to quit screaming for a few years.

4 of my favorite bands ALL hail from OC Cal, n around same time frame. All played at the chain reaction n such venues. A7X, Thrice, Death By Stereo n Atreyu!
@samcro91683 жыл бұрын
@@sly11benal7 I’ve seen all of those bands several times early on. Death by stereo is highly underrated.

Avenged Sevenfold is the millennials version of Metallica. Similar evolution and all. Except we grew up with and love Metallica and Maiden too.

M. Shadows and the Rev both play piano. Rev probably done the studio version, but M Shadows played it live back in the day.

These songs aren't about breaking up with someone they are about suicide part 1 is about the person who committed suicide and part 2 is from the perspective of the best friend of the person who committed suicide

I hate it that he acts like a clown and dances to the most tragic songs. Ridiculous reactions. smh
@lewylui70443 жыл бұрын
@@elena79rus exactly he's just a sheep doesn't understand complex emotions all he cares about is turning up. It's sad cause I was a fan so it's not like I'm hating he literally showed his true colors
