One of my all-time favorite groups. Scottish funk and soul at its finest! Next, drop some nasty funk with School Boy Crush. Album versions of AWB are recommended for production value. Pick Up the Pieces and Cut The Cake were big hits for this band.

The man in the center Mr. Rod Temperton, top center later wrote for Michael Jackson, & many other stars. I think he, in collaboration with other members, wrote that song. Of course, that was in my collection. Rod Temperton became a producer also. Even though White, he felt music. That was the genius of him. Until he died, I think in the late 90's or early-mid 2000's. Also they played all the instruments. Yes, including the saxophone. I, I think like you, are a music conesiure!!!

@williamjackson67056 ай бұрын
The most deceptive name in musical history. Ain't nothing average about these White dudes. They should have called themselves The Exceptional White Band. They were totally embraced by the Black community & you can see why. The tenor sax is being played by the late, great Malcolm Duncan. The falsetto vocals are by Hamish Stuart backed by Alan Gorrie. And you're right it didn't matter what color they were. We loved them back in the day. Please checkout Bobby Caldwell and do pick-up the sax again.
