Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid. I hope you feature more of them in the future. I see you've done a lot of classic rock on your channel. Because of that, I recommend their song "Manners" which has a very classic rock sound that I think would appeal to your subscribers. Or if you want to hear their heavier side, "Real Existence (Official Live Video)" or "Rinne".

There is more English than you think you hear. Their accent kind of buries the lyrics. Subtitles do help. They are dressed like MAIDS - BAND MAID. They call their concerts a "Service" to all the masters and princesses. There are many songs by BAND MAID and you will not regret any of them. DAYDREAMING - PLAY - FREEDOM - RINNE - DON'T YOU TELL ME - DIFFERENT
@kc623012 жыл бұрын
I agree with you that Saiki's accent makes some of the English phrases difficult to pick out. Yet, Saiki is doing WAY better with English than I could ever do with Japanese. Plus, I love Saiki's voice so much that I don't really care about the lyrics. Her voice is another instrument to my ears. I could never imagine Band Maid without Saiki singing. I even miss her voice in instrumentals like Onset. This band is among the best bands in the world.
@yang-it-yin70023 жыл бұрын
Band-Maid is a legit world class band with top notch instrumentalists. They draw from the best of Hard Rock/Metal, Funk, Blues, Punk and Pop to form a familiar yet unique sound of their own. This also makes it hard to peg this band into a particular category. And it also is difficult in comparison with other bands that they have been grouped in. Each track is cleverly constructed and complexly woven between instruments to form a unifying overall groove with memorable catchy elements. It could be said this band is the type of band that becomes a favorite of others musicians. Other musicians understand the complexity and difficulty in executing their music which makes this a respected band amongst musicians. Also an element that is often overlooked is the content of their lyrics. It's understandable that it can be lost in translation but I urge one to take a closer look you may find them impactful with real substance.

Welcome to the world of BAND MAID The mass is bass and creates a rhythmically moving line. Akane creates a powerful rhythm that advances her song. Kanami is a riff machine that creates short but impressive phrases. Saiki and Miku's vocals produce outstanding rhythm and harmony. BAND MAID causes the strongest rock chemistry.

I love this band. Son told me about them and I checked out a video which happened to be "Choose Me" about six years ago and it kicked and they have been my number one band since. BTW, I'm not into anime. I hadn't bought music in years. Now collecting their albums (recent CDs have lyric liner notes in both English and Japanese, and recent official Music Videos also have English lyrics as well as Japanese). And exploring other Japanese rock and metal groups. Everyone is top level and works really hard to constantly improve and expand. The clothes were inspired by the Japanese "Maid Cafe" waitresses and their over-cutesy service that might be compared to Japanese Chuck-e-cheese for adults. The point of that was "the gap" between first appearance and sound, which a number of Japanese bands go for in various forms. Miku, the second vocalist/guitarist and lead lyricist, had worked in two maid cafes and wanted a rock band, so, this. Come out in cutesy maid outfits (which only hers and lead guitarist/composer Kanami's really resemble anymore), and proceed to blast everyone's hair back. Toward that end, Suggestions for tunes from their channel. Any of these that are from the February 14, 2020 show at Shibuya venue are great live. Otherwise, any of them from a live show in the last couple of years. Instrumentals - Onset Don't Be Long Heavier tunes - Rinne The Dragon Cries (English) Freedom (about standing up for one's right to be oneself, yet with a triumphant/joyful sound) especially the Feb 14, 2020 concert. Each player gets to shine and Akane does a longer drum solo in the middle. Manners is about their journey as a group, not fast, but great slammin' beat and bass. This one has a lot of symbology in the MV. So does "Warning" about the western-patterned big corporate music industry models (including in Japan) being poorly directed and bound to crash and burn. The MV has a car chase, playing instruments on top of vehicles being driven, and at the end after extricating themselves from it, a crash, explosion and big fire, all real. It's a trip. About Us is a very emotional, somewhat bluesy attempt to let the fans know they miss us with concerts restricted, trying to encourage us. On the other hand, some of their newest album is fast and experimental, such as Black Hole, possibly the heaviest there. Okay, other bands. All male - Ningen Isu, a metal trio X Japan Mixed gender all instrumental Asterism - young, crazy talented metal instrumental D_Drive - metallish instrumental quartet (2 guitars, bass, Drums) And if Lex can overlook the white dresses, all-female power metal group Lovebites is INTENSE. Okay... Peace Out.

Thank you for being honest! The band combine hard rock with pop-punk and sometimes a little jazz, and they always want a catchy chorus so their music is accessible. Their stated goal is "World Domination," in this case having their name and music known around the world. To that end, they almost always include lots of English into their lyrics to make them more accessible to the US and European markets.
