The beauty of Bluegrass music is he has to be dead on with his intonation. There is no distortion or pedals to hide behind. Excellent guitar player!
@mikewills67532 жыл бұрын
Real musicians play bluegrass.. btw.. I play the mando.. 6 string.. fiddle and my fav.. the dobro.
@thecomanchekid2 жыл бұрын
hmm, billy use quite an extensive pedal board, there is a video where he goes in depth explaining what he uses...
@michaelhutchens42432 жыл бұрын
You are probably right, my point is that he doesnt necessarily "distort" the sound like an electric guitar players do.
@mikewills67532 жыл бұрын
@@thecomanchekid I also play thru a Jerry Douglas Aura bax. It has 24 different voices that I can choose from.. depending on the type of song being played. It adds zero distortion and doesn't affect the playability. A little more bass in this song.. a little more treble in that one. Sometimes.. most times.. the dobro played thru a direct box sound like an electric lap steel. That's not what I want so I turn the dial to an acoustic setting and that's what I get.. acoustic sound. It's a great tool when you play plugged in.

My dude I’m stoked you did a reaction to billy strings. However, this isn’t the best version of this song. Yes, it’s still absolutely great, but the version on the couch is so raw and authentic. Billie’s voice, writing and string playing is the best in the bluegrass business. I think he has revitalized the bluegrass genre. He won a Grammy for the best bluegrass album this year. He was nominated for a Grammy for Song of the year for Dust in a Baggie in 2010. He was beaten by Single Lady. I guess that’s fair enough. It’s amazingly good though.
