I was just about to say this and your comment ws the first thing I see. I've been listening to Chris stapleton for awhile but i heard this song for the first time last week and that shit hit me like a fridge to the face. This is my second time hearing it and got tears in my eyes this time too. So i friend of mine recommended this and said what you said but also that he didn't like to be in the videos and of he got to sing about what he wanted and kinda direct the video and i think he said pick the actors but i might be wrong then he would be in the video. So they came to an agreement and he was the bartender in the video. This is definitely my new favorite Chris stapleton songs. Tennessee Wiskey, sometimes I cry and Death Row have been my favorites for so long long now but this is definitely going to be up there.. What a song..

Chris wanted a video that not only showed the struggle she has with mental health but what the partner goes thru. The husband was basically showing her that he can take it. She can fire away and he’s prepared to take it for her. This hits very close to home for me. I’m blessed to have my husband by my side. 🙏🏼❤️

This is one of the hardest to watch..the message here is this.."take your best shot, show me what ya got, honey I'm not afraid" come on, Fire Away ! Meaning, I am here for you, no matter what!! Many don't have that in their time of need, or sadly think they don't have it.

The truth is being in a relationship with a person with depression is tough. There’s ultimately nothing you can do but try to be there and support them but it is up to them to work on themselves. The video needs to be seen to truly appreciate this song and what it means to Chris himself because he normally doesn't do a video but this was all him idea and vision, there's actually a great video on here of Chris, the director, and the actors in the video all talking about it. Now that you have seen it if you want to truly appreciate the lyrics and his unbelievable singing ability you guys have to check out the acoustic version with just Chris and Morgane, his wife, there. It's by far the best version of the song in my opinion and it is somehow almost as powerful as the video I think. It's some of his and his wife's best singing and harmonies together. Enjoying your channel brother, really hope I see you react to the acoustic version, can't miss it too it's the only acoustic version on KZbin I have seen and the video has around 10 million views now.

Thank you for your honesty. I can say this for certain sometimes it’s hard when you are in that mind frame and I live alone so I have a couple of people I can day or night thank God. I have lost a few friends over the years. I don’t want to be this way but unfortunately for me I have a broken brain. Thank you so much for reacting to this song. This is one of the things there needs to be talked about. I do believe that everyone with mental illness should have a friend they can call day or night. Just 2 weeks ago I was struggling for the first time since 2008. I kept saying no! Stop it to my head! Maybe one day I will share my horrible memories and stories that got me here. 💕💕💕

After I got out of the military in 2012 I was lost and in alot of mental and physical pain. The v.a. just kept prescribing me pain pills. I ended up hooked on them. Couldn't take the memories and pain. I was taught if you ask for help your weak. All my wife wanted was for me to talk to her and I couldn't.In 2014 tried to take my own life. Thank God it didn't work out. I thought it would be the best thing for my wife and kids. It wasn't. I never thought of the pain it would cause them. I learned that it doesn't make you weak to seek help. Sometimes we can't do it alone. Thank God I'm in a better place now. If anyone is thinking about suicide please I beg you ask for help. It's never a good idea.
