Oh Patricia. Ave Maria isn't a prayer. It is simply a song in honour of Mary, mother of Jesus. Secondly, you can't increase or quantify the 'power' of a prayer. God hears it whether it is spoken in silence or sung. We're all mere mortals and our best efforts are like soiled rags (from the Bible, yes) because we are imperfect.

@lulu in hollywood No Lulu, if you listen to the lyrics, you'll know that Ave Maria isn't a prayer. So I guess it depends on which version of Ave Maria you're referring to. One thing is for sure though, Ave Maria is no an 'ancient prayer', nor will singing the song amplify it a 'thousand fold'. Why you feel the need to be aggressive and insulting when you start your reply is very strange. The same point could have been made without condescension.

Over 600 Ave Marias have been written throughout history. Ave Maria is not just one song. It's merely a title. It's a bit like hearing Adele's Hello and expecting the Lionel Richie version. A Muslim artist and a Jewish composer came together to create a brand new Ave Maria that could be enjoyed by people of every faith, without words or religious connotations but still giving us glimpses of the other worldly.

Igor basically took one line from the Cassini version (considered by many to be the oldest) and worked an arrangement around it. Personally I think he did a splendid job because it was a rather unique idea. Others may argue that he could have done more than use one line from Cassini. Either way, it is special because of the way Dimash sings it. I think we can all agree on that ❤

There are many different versions of Ave Maria written through the ages with Schubert's being the most well known. Dimash asked Igor Krutoy to compose this song for him so it is not a case of broken telephone but a totally new composition.

It's not intended to be a version of any other song called "Ave Maria." It's a whole new song written especially for Dimash by Igor Krutoy as a non-denominational.uniter. Frankly, I wish Igor would have given it another title so that viewers wouldn't go into it expecting to hear Schubert's (or anyone else's) "Ave Maria." But it is what it is---simply a gorgeous vocalized melody that shows off Dimash's higher range beautifully.

He isn't taking liberties. It was never meant to be Schubert's Ave Maria. As you might know Dimash is Muslim, Igor Krutoy is Jewish. This version was created to give peace to people regardless of religion or belief. Dimash said he was thinking of an angel when he created this song, I mean, you can tell.

Coincidentally I had a free evening and I gladly sat down at the piano and, remembering the Italian formula of responsibility, worked with inspiration until I achieved the desired result. . . I quite agree with Debbie, there were so many versions on Ave Maria exists I the world, the Schubert version is just most played at the concerts. So I wouldn't say they gave taken liberties. Neither of them is Christian, so there is that, but the angelic voice of Dimash still carried this unconventional Ave Maria to heavens.

This is the Igor Krutoy Avi Maria. Dimash loves the sound of the more original versions of Ave Maria but he is Muslim. It would not be within his thoughts to sing a song to a female goddess as he worships Allah. Igor is Jewish from his fathers side and eastern orthodox Christian from his mothers side. It had to be a Vocalize/no words, for Dimash. He called Igor and asked him to have something ready in two weeks and Igor said, "Can do". This is the result.

Classical composer used to write music for the mass. They were also paid to write the music for every part of the mass because religion was so important in the pass, it was the central part of every celebration and holiday. So, Ave María, Agnus Dei, our father among other, were some of the prayers they have to be part of the musical pieces of a mass. That being said, all the musicians who composed masses, used to include the “Ave María” (Hail Mary) among the songs, to be also sang in weddings and other types of mass celebrations. Even though Shubert’s Ave María is probably one of the most famous Ave María compositions, it is only one among hundreds of them. Nevertheless, Igor Krutoy composed his own one as a tribute to the Shubert’s one (so that you can notice the original one behind this particular version). The fact that it does not have lyrics is because they both( Igor and Dimash) wanted to keep it neutral for every religion and since we are in the 21 st Century the actual music style and instruments have been added in a very elegant way in my opinion. Dear blogger, Dimash does not perform "Ave Maria" by Schubert. This vocal work, also "Ave Maria", was written by composer Igor Krutoy (he is at the piano) especially for Dimash. And it is their right to use the arrangement, instruments and choir or backing vocals. Dimash is free to choose the performance, and there is no need to drive him into the traditional framework. DIMASH asked IGOR KRUTOY to compose this song, just three months before its release on the New Wave Festival. It's not a cover of the Ave Maria we already know. Goodness you got this so wrong. There are earlier Ave Marias than Schubert and later ones. Igor and Dimash's is unique but not unconnected. He does a little of Schubert's version in "Love is like a Dream"

Schubert’s Ave Maria is the most well known and it wasn’t originally written as an Ave Maria. An Ave Maria is a prayer and has been performed in a variety of versions through the centuries. Bach’s version was 100 years before Schubert. I happen to prefer the Bach version between those 2. Of course, Igor Krutoy’s version sung so spectacularly by Dimash is my fave of all (and I’ve heard a ton of Schuberts).

There is no such thing as Ave Maria song. There were many, even before the Schubert version. Actually, it wasn't original. It was a remake of an (probably) Italian, which is in the top 10, regarding popularity. .......... Similarly, you can't say The Country Song. There are many. Actually (again), it is not the most beautiful I've ever heard. It takes a little travel to the second most popular pilgrimage destination in Europe. No, it is not Rome. Einsiedeln. It worth it. In the church of the large monastery, they sing it every day. Heavenly. Especially the Black Madonna part. It's real.
