Silence has never been so loud, I think that's why Paul Simon gave Disturbed this song. It was a protest back in the days of Viet Nam and now, it's a cry of vengeance against those who didn't listen in the first place. PEACE!!!!!
@Lulabee20249 ай бұрын
not vengeance...what does that solve?? RESPECT of others and UNDERSTANDING that WE CAN ALL LIVE IN PEACE WITH DIVERSIRTY. Everyone wants to point a finger and say YOU or ThEM or THEY are the problems in the world. Vengeance IS NOT PEACE.
@barbaraantonelli77829 ай бұрын
Paul Simon didn't "give" this to Disturbed. He didn't really know about it until someone told him to listen. Then he gave the highest praise ever from him - he actually told his opinion & congratulated Disturbed. Remember tho, that technology has changed so much in 50 years. (Can't believe it's been that long since I heard this the first time.) Paul would do it much differently if he published it now.

Loved your reaction! I could tell that you could really feel the message. Paul Simon of Simon and Garfunkel wrote this in 1963 and after this released in 2015, he posted on his social media that Disturbed now owned this song. I know you’d really loved the latest Disturbed video released in January ‘24, Don’t Tell Me. Ann Wilson of Heart, best female rock singer of all time, is featured on the song. She and David Draiman’s voices together are incredible!!! Worth a reaction. I love Disturbed’s really heavy metal music too, but love the ballads.

People are so speechless when they hear this song, it’s very spiritual. Silence to me here means so many things. The silence of tranquility and authenticity in the beginning, and the silence caused by materialism, urbanisation, disconnection…silence that “cancer grows” in the middle of the song, and the silence we need for us the hear the warnings and signs bringing us back to ourselves, the silence that is ourselves. This song is a prophet.

OMG, the tissues I've 🤧 gone through since I discovered David Draiman and Disturbed performing their rendition of "The Sound of Silence" on April 29, 2024. That day I have to believe my spirit 🙏 guides (out of the blue) first led me to a cover video by Dan Vasc singing "Amazing Grace" which was phenomenal 👏 and then to the cover video of Disturbed and David Draiman singing this most POWERFUL, EMOTIONAL 😂rendition of Simon and Garfunkels "The Sound of Silence". I'm 75 and was 15 when they released one of the most popular classic songs of our time during the 60's. It is amazing how relevant it is today. Actually I feel it is even more relevant than ever in so many different ways. I've spent days since listening and seeing, you notice I didn't say viewing, the many channel hosts and each of their reactions and have 😢 almost every time. It's funny that more males have gotten teary-eyed than females, just an observation. Thanks from Diane

The sound of silence was written in 1964 by Simon and Garfunkel. It is considered a warning. Disturbance version came out in 2015 and It It represents the anger that we have not heeded the message from Simon and Garfunkel's version. In 2019 released It represents the anger that we have not heeded the message from Simon and Garfunkel's version. In 2019 Pentatonix released their cover of sound of silence. It falls in between as hopeful. I would love to see you react to that as they are an acapella group. Sound of silence is 1 of their most popular videos. To answer the question about the line hello darkness my old friend Paul Simon Paul Simon Said in an interval interview that he would write his music In the background the bathroom Because because of theAcoustics. So when he went in there the light would be off Hello Hello darkness my old friend......Another Video of the sound of silence to react to is Dan vasquez , who is a metal singer. His cover Pretty much follows the pacing and intensity of disturbance. I watch reactions because I want to see the reactors true and honest opinion. Therefore they need to go in completely blind. You should not go in knowing anything about the song except maybe it's his history Because then you're reaction isn't authentic because you will be anticipating or no what direction the song is going to go to. Anton chekhov (Russian) I said that the role of the artist is not to answer questions but to ask questions. So the gentleman in the orange shirt That is the reason why you had the response that you did You want to know where the song You wanted to know where the song was gonna go to so you could prepare yourselves. However that will include your reaction. Please don't ever feel bad about a reaction where You are visually effective. That means that the song has gone and fed your soul, A. soul that did not know it was hungry for thus Comes your reaction and you need to look at it. When Paul Simon heard disturbed version he said it was very very good. I loved your comment about that being the sound of silence... I've seen I've seen reactions to this video many many times No 1 is ever come up with that line and it's absolutely perfect.. Thank you so very much for your reaction

I believe Simon and Garfunkel wrote this as a warning and reaction to the murder of President John F. Kennedy. I know Paul Simon contacted David Draiman (singer in Disturbed that you just listened to), and told him this is the best version he have ever hear of the song. MASSIVE credit!
